You know how people always say- You will only wear your lehenga once ? Well, I knew that wouldn't be true for me. Even though trends change, I loved my wedding lehenga skirt and couldn't wait to wear it again. So when my cousin brother got hitched I knew I had to dig into my cupboard to unravel that piece that was carefully wrapped in muslin and give it a fresh look. I didn't love my wedding blouse and my dupatta was so heavy, I could literally use it as dumbells in the gym. So here is what I did...
4 Years ago , I tied the knot ..
Here's a closer look at my lehenga which looks a bit dated today...
Here's me re-wearing it a few months ago
I ditched the original blouse to get a plain off white 'Choli cut' one
And added a dupatta from an existing suit ...
I considered getting a crop top made but my lehenga has a very traditional fall, and it didn't seem to match with it. I finally settled on the blouse after discussing it with Salt & Spring- a boutique in Shahpur Jat who created this for me . The off white picked up the white bits of my lehenga and gave a fresher look. I also considered getting a brand new dupatta made, and wish I had but since I didn't I mixed and matched an existing lightweight dupatta to it. I think Im going to wear this one more time- with a white shirt and a chunky necklace .
