2 years- that's how long this bride planned her wedding! Every event had a very specific vibe and feel thanks to not only the decor, but even invigorating the guests' senses! Real Bride Shivani was one of those brides who knew exactly what she wanted for her big day, and it surely does appear so in the photos as well! She wore a gorgeous white and gold lehenga for her wedding, and not just that, but her bridal look was very different and on point for every other function as well! Take a look for yourself!
Meet Shivani and Aniruddh
We met during first year of our college and were introduced to each other as we had same major. We instantly became friends and started attending classes together. Eventually we became best friends, and on one fine day, Ani decided to come ask me out to be his girlfriend. I was a little hesitant because I didn’t want to ruin our friendship or even let our relationship affect my career, so after one month of dating, I called it off. He respected my decision and gave me some space. After few months, he asked me out again and after thinking a lot about it, I said yes. Since, then we dated for 7 years until we got married. Basically, we took 7 vows during out 7th year of dating.
Mehendi
Decor: We wanted a very specific decor which is “Gujarat and Rajasthan fusion”. They look culturally very similar in terms of colors and a Mela theme felt just right to do justice to the decor. There were a lot of colors. Our bride and groom seating had this custom made back drop made with colorful patches of fabric which reminded people of “razai” from bachpan. The flowers were kept in an empty coke bottle. There were Indian pickle jars used in the decor and dream catchers were accompanied with the some colorful baskets. We had stalls such as balloon shooting, live bangles, mehendi, and vitamin c or khatta meetha stall.
Outfits: For mehendi, we both wore shades of blue as it gives this royal touch to it. I got a velvet navy blue custom made lehenga and Ani had worn this light blue sherwani to compliment our looks. Since everything was colorful and a mela themed, we wanted to look kingly and queenlike.
Sangeet
Decor: After a fun day time Mehendi, I wanted to take our guests to a small ride to “Ranthambhore’s Forest” through our decor. So we decided to recreate a Ranthambhore’s forest for our sangeet. To give it the most realistic feeling, we planted animals statues that were national such as tiger, monkey, birds, and deers. There was this beautiful walkway that started with lots of mashals and converted into a dense forest with all the greens coming in from all sides. We also added animal sound in the background in our walkway to give it a feel of a real jungle.
Outfits: For sangeet, since everything was jungle themed and green, I chose floral mirror embroidered lehenga to sparkle in the dark which would stand out from the crowd. Ani wore a light pink open jacket sherwani with sequined embroidery on jacket that sparkled in the dark for the night.
Haldi
Decor: I felt that guests needed a laid back event and so we tried to go light on colors and give that Kerala temple wedding effect for Haldi. It was a very elegant and subtle. Guests felt a completely different vibe altogether and were unaware of the surprise waiting for them which was our wedding decor (the game changer). For haldi, we had flower holi and lots of garba. We wanted a fresh fragrance of the morning for this event. So we used incense that smelled like “ your morning walk to a mandir for a darshan”.
Outfits: For Haldi, we both decided to go with red because deep down I knew most guests would choose yellow to wear in haldi and the decor was Kerala theme based with all whites, and golds. On one of my shoulders, I had draped my mother's wedding saree as I wanted a piece of something from her wedding to be there on one of these special big moments of our lives. Ani had worn a nice bandhni custom-made kurta to contrast with my mother's saree that I had draped on my shoulder.
Wedding
Decor: Our wedding was the most special because I was planning for this decor and looks for more than 2 years! Yes, that’s correct. To make it execute exactly the way it got executed. I wanted a Benaras feel to the decor. I wanted the guests to witness a wedding that they had seen never before. A wedding so serene that it felt like it was happening in heaven. The decor and lighting had a major role, and impact to bring that feeling of purity. There were fragrances of Tulsi, Jasmine, and notes of patchouli with some other earthy tones. I wanted everything to be white and gold, and our guests had worn all red as per the theme.
Outfits: For my wedding, I always knew I wanted to wear white since I was a kid. Strangely, the white color became a trend right when I was planning to get married. I got color customization and added peacock, lion, and elephant hidden in my outfit because of it's relevance to goddesses in our Hindu culture. I knew I didn't want to wear reds and greens for jewelry, so I got custom-made turquoise and rubies jewelry pieces. Ani chose a beautiful ivory sherwani with gold embroidery to go with my look.
From The Couple:
Our wedding took place on December 24th, 2022. I just think I am a bride that is too particular about details and wants something exactly the way she knows she wants it. Also, I had been thinking every single little detail even if it’s a fragrance from a long period of time. I just wanna thank my planner Wedding By Ishwar and my sister to help me execute my thoughts and making it exactly happen the way I wanted. Also, wedding planning for us started 2 years ahead because of covid pushing the dates. I personally never visited India for anything, not even shopping, trials, or any kinda discussion until 10 days before our wedding. Everything happened online with sleepless nights to make our dream wedding come to reality.

Tips For Other Couples
- In each event, we smartly planted incense sticks with fragrances that would make guests subconsciously feel the vibe. For example, we chose earthy fragrances from phool (as they recycle flowers) for our haldi to give that fresh early morning feel. We chose jasmine, roses, tulsi, patchouli, and many more unique fragrances for the wedding depending on each event/ venue. It gave more depth to each event.
- Also, one big note which is super important. It may be super difficult, but plan ahead and somehow make sure through your planner to only let parents, siblings, and any other important people you want to enter the mandap. Less people = best pictures --- that is the formula for the mandap pictures. Trust me!
Vendor Reviews
Venue: Sawai Madhopur, Ranthambore
I think one of the most underrated and gorgeous properties that we were able to find. It's located in the middle of nowhere and has mountains, and forests nearby which you can see through the venue. It is Sawai Madhopur, Ranthambhore. I won't be surprise that it goes crazy expensive if some celeb gets married there. Their services are top-notch and their staff ensured every single guest felt comfortable. They would even bring out something freshly made from the kitchen for people with kids as they would be picky.
Makeup Artist: Glamocracy
She is very talented. She listened to me and made sure I felt comfortable. She kept all my looks different yet minimal. I wanted to look timeless and looking at the pictures I can say that I would never regret my makeup looks ever. She's a sweetheart.
Wedding Planning: Wedding by Ishwar
Our wedding planner is literally a family member now. We had been planning our wedding for over 2 years because covid, plans got pushed. He listened to every little detail that I wanted. He executed it just the way I wanted it. He is very skilled and active. He ensures that everyone is happy. BEST PLANNER EVER. Our planner was our decorator as well.
Photography: The Wedding Story
I had thought that since they do celebrity weddings, there will be a communication gap and lack of connection between us. However, they turned out super friendly. Everything went smoothly. They loved decor each day and how thoughtfully we had ensured that they received enough space to get our best moments captured. They are very friendly and organized. And what do I even talk about their talent, I mean just look at all the pictures they have clicked so far, in fact, I can't believe that it's our wedding.
