Shloka & Shiv’s intimate Mumbai wedding screamed elegance and gorgeousness. From Shloka’s custom bridal lehenga to their vibrant haldi chuda function to the cocktail dinner - their celebrations were all about having fun and making sure that the long awaited wedding was about them, more than anything else.
After postponing it 4 times, the couple decided to go ahead with an intimate affair in JW Marriott Sahar and everything was dreamy and exactly how they wanted it. Planning their wedding while being in London was no easy task but the couple did it and the result - a pinteresty wedding full of inspiration.

The Wedding
From The Bride:
Our wedding took place on the 5th of February 2022. Due to the pandemic we had to delay our wedding four different times so in the end, we decided that it was more important for us to have our wedding safely, and to finally do it. Our wedding was incredibly intimate, with only 50 family members, but we wouldn't have it any other way. Shiv and I are both Indian but we have global experiences that have shaped us both and so we chose to adapt certain traditions to suit us and to speak to who we are as a couple. For example, Shiv actually saw me before the wedding ceremony, and he came to the room with flowers and we took our photos together. It helped us both take the nerves off for this big day and landed up being very special!
Vendor Reviews:
Venue: JW Marriott Sahar
The hotel was fabulous at making sure that we felt special and taken care of. The food in particular was fabulous.
Makeup Artist: Riddhima Sharma
Not only is Riddhima amazing at what she does, she has the most calming and wonderful energy which makes you feel so calm. I love that her aesthetic is natural and modern and I felt so stunning! She really made me feel at ease considering the first time I met her was right before the wedding.
Planning & Decor: The Design Company by Ashish and Henna
Our planners had been with us from the start of our journey and what we really loved is that Ash and Henna took the time to understand who we were as a couple. There was no cookie cutter suggestions for this wedding, but rather they adapted their ideas to us, but also for every change, delay and amendment we had due to the pandemic. The other thing to note is that we had to plan everything remotely as Shiv and I live in London and at no point did we worry because we know that Ash and Henna always had it under control. Beyond them taking care of all aspects of our wedding, they also made sure to take care of Shiv and I! As a bride the whole event can feel overwhelming and you forget small things, like to eat lunch! Henna made sure my favourite breakfast was in my room every morning and that I had every meal too!
They also did our decor. Henna made sure to really speak to our personalities. What was really important to us was that the wedding felt personal, and that there were touches of Shiv and I everywhere, without it being too obvious or blatant. She really made the entire event feel so personal and special to us, to the point that each guest who walked in said "This is so Shloka & Shiv". She even incorporated my favourite flower, Peonies, into our table settings, as well as Tulips (Shiv is born and brought up in Holland) for Shivs family. It was beautiful.

Gaurav and Priyanka originally caught our eye due to their beautiful work. We loved both their artistic shots and their candid photographs. They made everyone feel very comfortable and they were able to blend in so seamlessly. With such an intimate wedding, everyone was so important but they were able to not only capture everyone at their best, but also capture some of the key moments outside of the ceremonies.
Bridal Outfits: Mehendi - Alkhemy Studio, Cocktail Dinner - 16 Arlington, Chuda - Ashtar Weaves, Wedding - Manish Malhotra
For my Mehndi I wore a Dubai based brand called Alkhemy Studio. I was very conscious that I wanted to try and wear some newer, up and coming labels and I wanted every outfit to be a reflection of me. Although the colour palette I chose for each outfit wasn't traditional, it felt most authentic to me. For the dinner that we had the night before our wedding, I wore a British brand called 16 Arlington. I was very lucky to have the dress custom made to my size. I love anything with shine and feathers so this dress was the perfect mix of the two. For my chuda, I wore this yellow chikan lehenga from Ashtar Weaves. I love this type of work and this colour really suited the whole occasion. Ashtar Weaves does some of the most beautiful outfits in this work and this was one of my favourite outfits. Last but not least, for the wedding I wore a custom Manish Mahlotra lehenga. I remember coming into the store in 2019 and discussing the types of work that I liked, the colours, and the style. We took all my favourite elements and the team created this beautiful lehenga that I will treasure forever. The veil was one of my favourite parts of the outfit - so delicate and stunning. The colour is also true to my personality and to me - I was never a traditional bride, with Shiv and me choosing to adapt so many traditions to make them our own, so it felt right to wear a colour like this as well.
Mehendi Artist: Veena Nagda
I wanted something quite classic, no motifs, and I wanted it to be timely. Her team were great!
Groom Wear: Mehendi - Project Bandi, Cocktail Dinner - Raghavendra Rathore, Chuda - Ashtar Weaves, Wedding - Divyam Mehta
For the Mehendi, Shiv wore Project Bandi. As we planned this wedding remotely, he coordinated with the brand for his measurements and design and they were not only incredibly timely at having the pieces reach us, but everything fit Shiv perfectly with no alterations required. For the dinner, Shiv wore Raghavendra Rathore; a bandhgala with Jodhpuri trousers. After our Haldi Shiv changed into a kurta set from Ashtar weaves, where the chikan work matched my own outfit for the Chuda. For the wedding and reception shiv wore bespoke Divyam Mehta.
DJ: DJ Aman Team
Our DJ was incredible! He was from DJ Amans team and he had our party rocking all the time! Even though we were just 50 people, it was incredible!
