A barely there soft pink veil, oodles of vintage jewellery and a stunning white and pink day wedding ensured that our Monday morning just got a whole lot prettier. Excuse us while we take a moment to pin this all over our Pinterest gallery, specially that gorgeous bridal nosering. Do take a look at all the action captured by Sharik Verma Photography .
Meet Divjyot & Simran
"We met though our folks and I was completely swept off my feet. Romance bloomed unexpectedly and we talked quite a bit on text before we met on our first date. Soon, we were talking every day and after a lovely surprise proposal expertly executed by Simran, the wedding was fixed. I'm an MBA from Cornell University and now, Startegy and Corporate Finance Manager at a Multinational while Simran, the groom is an IIT Delhi alumnus completing his MBA from Wharton" explains Divjyot.

The Wedding / Reception
From The Bride:
"My mehendi and pre-wedding festivities took place at home, in Mohali Punjab, surrounded by my parents and sister, and the large, happy, gregarious family of chachas, chachis maasis and massads. My Mehendi was all about lemon yellow, lime green with a hint of fuschia pink that made it a bright and colourful affair. The other events all came in a muted palette. The Sangeet catapulted us into a different world - a world with wondrous chandeliers, fairy lights, lanterns and a lot of old worldly charm. We decided on a Moghul Carnival theme for our Sangeet, all the ladies wore jhoomars and we danced all night to my favourite band, Stereo Nation who performed live and brought the house down. Simran and I despite our two left feet, performed to our song "Can't help falling in love with you" by Ingrid Michaelson.
"Beyond Chenab farms, located about 15 minutes from Chandigarh, surrounded by hills and a beautiful atmosphere is where we decided to get married, outdoors. We wanted the beauty of the farm to speak for itself and therefore, kept the decor understated, with tones of off-white and peach - a very English-inspired theme. The Anand Karaj was enchanting and the breezy morning led everyone into a spiritual reverie. We followed the pheras with reading our own vows and exchanging wedding bands. There was a lovely father daughter dance, that made everyone teary-eyed followed by our first dance. I got my intimate and personal wedding, that I always wanted. For our guests some of whom had never been to an Indian wedding or India before, this was a memorable and unforgettable experience - a feast for the eyes, stomach and soul. For us it was just perfect" adds Divjyot.
"As for the outfits, they were very exciting. For the day of my wedding with coral as my colour of choice, Mahzabeen along with my mom created a dream come true lehenga for me. Donning my glorious lehenga and stunning pieces of jewelry, which did most of the talking, I felt every bit the ethereal princess. I wore the outfit with traditional Sikh jewelry -a tikka, passa, and a majestic nath, Simran wore an off-white sherwani and a coral turban and palla to match." adds Divjyot.
