Dreamy Shimla Wedding With Loads Of Love And Broad Smiles

We love a destination wedding amidst rolling clouds and towering Himalayas. Neha & Uday's Anand Karaj in the hills was just one of those celebrations that you couldn't help but admire. However, it was nothing short of a nightmare for the couple when it started raining on the day of their festivities. But thanks to the amazing team of Oberoi wildflower that the couple ended up having a dreamy celebration, shrouded in clouds and emanating a different type of beauty.
Neha wore some very distinctive outfits - from a typical Punjabi suit for her Mehendi to a stunning floral ensemble for her wedding and a blingy outfit for her reception. However, what caught our attention the most was their smiles, the sheer joy radiating on their face, and the love that shined through all the photographs.

From The Bride:
18th Oct 2021. Planning a destination wedding can be a nerve-wracking experience and we didn’t have a wedding planner per se on board. Neither did we have a decorator. The decorations were spearheaded by my Mom-in-law, Kamal Grewal who has a great eye for aesthetics. As far as wedding planning is concerned, since there was no formal company or professional hired, I had to be minutely involved in everything - from the color of the sofas to the cab transfers to and from the hotel to the sagan packing color palette. Mandakini Lama, a wedding coordinator we had brought on board along with our immediate families pitched in to review everything personally so that all decisions reflected Uday and me in the true sense of the term.
Vendor Reviews:
Venue: Wildflower Hall, Oberoi, Mashobra
We had wanted to keep most of our functions outdoors, amidst the greens and the mountains, however, destiny had other plans. There were thunderstorms and intense rainfall in Shimla on specifically on the two days of our wedding (it was all clear the day prior and the day after with clear, crisp blue skies). We had planned things quite carefully all along for it to all go smoothly for us and the guests involved as unlike city weddings where things can be arranged last minute, it’s not the same with a destination wedding especially during Covid. All that planning though went for a toss once the rains hit hard and I remember the Oberoi team came together for us and made everything a grand celebration despite the rains!

I wanted someone who could allow me to look like myself on my big day and she understood the brief and delivered accordingly. Nothing was over the top. She and her team made me feel super comfortable through the functions which was a blessing.
Wedding Coordinator: Mandakini Lama
She was an absolute delight to work with. She helped me through the biggest and smallest tasks during a stressful couple of months before the wedding.

Very happy with our choice as they are a fabulous, young team with great caliber.
Bridal Outfits: Mehendi - Saurab Rajeshwari, Sangeet - Dabiri Couture, Wedding - House of Kotwara, Reception - Seema Gujral
I wanted a very traditional, authentic Punjabi Patiala salwar for the Mehendi, and no one better than Saurab Rajeshwari to understand the Punjabi roots. I chose Dabiri Couture for Sangeet. I had to pick something off their rack a few hours before my departure to Shimla as they were unable to deliver the outfit I had placed an order for 3 months prior. It was a disaster. The lesser said the better. It was a bride's worst nightmare come true. People to date can't imagine how I maintained my calm. House of Kotwara did my Bridal outfit. I wanted something with a dreamy, old-world charm and Sama beautifully brought that vision to life. I opted for a Seema Gujral outfit for my reception - for a lovely, clingy outfit that fit me like a glove.
