Meet Kanika & Atul
"Atul and I have known each other since college (2004) where we briefly met but never really interacted much. We both had our separate lives at the time and knew of each others existence but nothing more than that. It was only 4 years later that we officially met when a bunch of friends and us decided to put up a PLAY. Atul had done a few plays before and he was a sure choice. Me, on the other hand, had never acted ever but wanted to just help out in the costume department. And the most unlikely thing happens. They needed an actor to play one of the parts and I very reluctantly had to fill in. Well that was for me the moment we really started hang out and started to get to know each other a fair bit. I loved how he would make everyone laugh and try to be the centre of attention whenever he got the chance and he has a 1000 things to say about me and how behaved at the time. "We dated for about 4 years and on one unforgettable evening in April 2014 when we were having dinner at the amazing Pier chic restaurant in Dubai, he very dramatically gave me a beautiful ring and asked me to marry him. I said yes of course and a year later after months and months of planning we got married at a very beautiful resort called Bolgatty Palace in Cochin, Kerala," she adds. The Wedding
From The Bride: "One thing we've always believed is that we've always been friends first. We still believe that we're best friends who married each other, hence the apt hastag for the wedding #mybestfriendswedding. The vision of the wedding was to keep it simple and have only our most favourite people there. It had to be a destination wedding and what better place than God's own country. We had only a 150 people at the wedding and put all our guests at the Bolgatty Palace Resort. A heritage property with the oldest wing built in the 18th century. The resort was perfect for us and catered too all our needs for our 2 day wedding. The guests loved it and the best part was the staff were never too intrusive and made us feel welcome. We had 4 events at the wedding that spanned over 2 days. We started off with a pool party on day one followed by a sangeet at night. The next day was the wedding mass in church (St. Mary's Basilica) followed by a reception back at the resort. The decoration was fabulous and done perfectly according to the brief. Bhushan Bagadia who is a very close friend of ours took on the task to make this possible and outdid him self. The colours we chose were pastels and neutrals. There was a logo specially created by Mamta Joseph from MOG design who also made all the invitations, a special 'passport' booklet handed over to all the guests that had all details of the wedding, the property etc," adds Kanika.
