Fun Cross-Culture Goa Wedding With Cute Little Personalised Elements

BY Sakshi | 07 Jul, 2022 | 1709 views | 5 min read

Now here is a wedding which looked like a hoot! We love a couple who look like they're having a blast at their own wedding, and of course, the fact that the bride rocked some amazing outfits even makes it more interesting for us! This Indian Canada-based couple’s wedding at The Holiday Inn Goa was a celebration of love and laughter. It was a Tamilian Maharashtrian mixed mixed wedding affair, and they had 2 weddings to celebrate both their cultures. Full marks to the team of The Picture Patch Photography ★ 4.9 who captured everything beautifully on their lens.

Meet Anjanaa and Varun

10 years, 4 countries, a year of long distance and 2 schools later, we have reached this moment! Our journey began in the Swiss alps as great friends during our under-graduation as aspiring hoteliers at Les Roches. We continued to stay in touch after graduating and we started dating on 18th August 2017. 4 years later, on 18th August 2021, Varun proposed!

Reception

From The Bride:

Our wedding was an intimate celebration with our closest family members and friends in Goa. The celebrations spanned over two days 3-4 May 2022! Our main focus was to have a fun and chill vibe. Loved that we knew everyone who attended and that just made it so much more fun and had that informal aspect to it.

Style: Less is more; Fun; Vibrant

I used the WedMeGood app to browse through vendors and artists! Great app.

Vendor Reviews

Venue: Venue: The Holiday Inn Resort, Goa (Cavelossim Beach)

Couldn’t have chosen a better location! The team was amazing and the hotel had beautiful event venues. Everyone absolutely loved the food and drinks. Since we are South Indians (bride side) we requested for a banana leaf meal (sadhya) service which the chef was able to organize seamlessly as well.

Photography: The Picture Patch Photography

Not much to say about them as their pictures speak for themselves! The entire team was so funny, and a lot of fun. True magicians as they captured all our memories so perfectly!

Hair and Makeup: Ankita Manwani

Ankita was fabulous! She was able to understand my style and execute the minimal looks I wanted with ease. I would definitely reach out to her for any other future events I have or recommend her to anyone else looking for a great make up artist!

Wedding Planning and Decor: The Wedding Tantra

It was great having TWT plan our wedding; they were easily able to translate our vision into a beautiful and memorable wedding! The entire team was amazing and really helpful with even the tiniest of requests. Even small details like a surprise welcome care package for the bride and groom that they had kept in our rooms made it very special.

Adithya and the team really understood what we had envisioned - fun, vibrant and colorful! My favourite event and the one I was most excited about was the Mehendi Sundowner where I wanted a travel/vintage theme which they executed so perfectly. All our events also had a surprise decor element which really enhanced the entire vibe. Loved it!

Bridal Outfits

Haldi - Mint Blush Designs

Loved the fit and design; super light and flowy which was perfect for the Goa afternoon sun. Definitely going to get the outfit remade cause of all the haldi :P

Mehendi Sundowner - Anita Dongre

Definitely one of my favourite designers and this outfit was also one of my favourites! Loved that the lehenga had pockets :)

Wedding Sarees: The pink one was my Mom's saree - super light and perfect for the morning. Wedding Saree number 2 was from Sabyasachi - This saree was so beautiful and grand; we literally took 5 minutes to take the decision to buy it - it was just perfect!

Cocktail Reception - Seema Gujral

Loved the fit of this lehenga - it was so light and amazing to dance in! I feel the colors and fit was so me.

Groomwear

Haldi, Mehendi Sundowner - NM Studio, Mumbai

Their range of fabric and designs were amazing! They got a perfect fitting on the first go! Super happy with them

Wedding - Manyavar - We wanted something simple yet elegant for the wedding and found the perfect kurtas from Manyavar which was paired with a silk dhoti from Nalli.

Cocktail Reception - Linen Suit from Kachins Couture Dubai

Varun wanted something light for the evening and this was a perfect suit that they created (Pocket Square from Seema Gujral - matched with lehenga)

Mehendi Artist: Halima Khan

Halima was super accommodating with my minimal requests! Her work is super fine and beautiful.

Other Vendors

Romik Bose Mitra, one of my closest friends designed all the collateral/designs - he is truly amazing and was able to translate our vision of something fun so perfectly; the theme was so us!

Cynthia Dourado (Cintia's Cake Studio) made the most beautiful and delicious cake for our cocktail reception! Favour Me By Nidhi captured our logo so perfectly as a cake topper.

Cocktail Prints India - Their customized cocktail garnishes really elevated our drinks! Super easy to carry and store. They sent me the prints within a day (in Delhi).
