They call it 'Very Peri', but we like 'Blurple' so much better! So for the first time in 22 years, Pantone has created a whole new shade altogether and named it the Pantone colour for 2022. It is the pandemic that brought out the decision, as they decided the world needed a little more cheer :)
Here is what the new colour called 'Very Peri' looks like:
Pantone describes the shade aka 17-3938, as "a dynamic periwinkle blue hue with a vivifying violet-red undertone." In other words: blurple. It's a very pretty shade for just about anything- from nails to makeup, and of course, for bridal wear! The exact shade and the name might be new, but we have spotted bridal wear very close to Very Peri and if it's going to be a trend now, then you've got to be at the top of it!

Now isn't that such a pretty bridal shade? Love the fact that's it's a mix of two classic faves, purple and blue and looks happy and vibrant while being subtle and elegant.

A fabulous shade for a lehenga or even an anarkali or sharara, this is a nice purple with a hint of blue in it.

Even recently, Anushka Ranjan had worn a similar, although not the exact shade on her wedding, with a beautiful Manish Malhotra lehenga.

The shade is quite lovely, and we'd love to see 2022 brides rock 'Very Peri' on one of their wedding functions!
