If you saw a bunch of kids looking ridiculously in love on your timeline with the hashtag #MissSFVirtualEngagement, well then you may already know about blogger Masoom Minawala (from Style Fiesta) and her pretty pastel big day? This #girlboss kept it sweet and simple at a traditional Gujarati roka in Mumbai , but of course with a fashion blogger twist in a gorgeous pale blue lehenga. (Didn't we just tell you its the colour of 2016?)
Meet Masoom & Shailin
He is a jewellery entrepreneur from Belgium, she is one of India's premier fashion bloggers and you can read more about them here
"This was actually a really tiny event - we did not want to go all out, but have a simple and sweet ceremony with Gujarati traditions in tow and it turned out to be a memorable day for me. I was with the people I love and that was all that mattered. I still cannot believe that we have just begun our lifelong journey - it's such a wonderful feeling.
As far as the function was concerned, I did have a lot of inputs in the decor and the ideas. But I kept it to a minimum. I decided not to stress on the small things and made a conscious effort to choose my battles. When it came to my lehenga too, the choice was a simple one. I picked this Anita Dongre pastel hue lehenga with only one idea in mind - I did not want anything loud, bright or over-the-top.
Being a blogger, it was impossible that I would leave my social media family out of this. So I even detailed out the mehendi and the videos and showcased them on my social media feed with the hashtag #MissSFVirtualEngagement and my readers loved it - it literally went crazy on social media and even made it to the Mumbai Snap Story!!!
When it came to make-up, I chose to also make sure it's flawless but minimal. Usually, I have good skin, #touchwood. And that means, less makeup. The tip I can give brides-to-be is: If you hate going heavy on your makeup, just tell the MUA to give you no base. That way, you'll end up with minimal base. That's what I did. haha :) You need to trust the experts with stuff like this - but I like an MUA who involves you in the process and is communicative so she tells you what she's doing at every step.
I loved my big day - I was so nervous before getting engaged, on that day. But the fact that I am getting together with the person I love just made everything easy and special. It was quite the emotional time with the union of two families and everything. The wedding is now being planned for any time between Nov - Mar of 2016/17 and I cannot wait for those moments. And the hashtag #MissSFVirtualWedding will be up with all the details you'll want to see, so stay tuned!
