Girls , this one has some serious proposal goals ! Our favourite blogger and fashion maven, Masoom Minawala of Style Fiesta recently got engaged and her "Virtual engagement" literally took over all our newsfeeds.  While we will be following Masoom around on this 'Bride to be' journey and documenting it here,  we went ahead and asked her the real story behind that picture and details about ermm, the boy!  Here it is in her own words

The First Meeting We are from two different worlds, I'm a fashion blogger & CEO of an E-commerce brand Style Fiesta and Shailin's a diamond merchant from Belgium. He currently lives between Belgium, Mumbai & Surat. We couldn't have been more different and honestly, we are not even from the same city as Shailin uses Mumbai only as a pitstop. We met through a random introduction and then a couple of common friends. We had only seen each other once (for 15 minutes) before we fell in love over the phone. He called, then I called and we never stopped calling each other and it just seemed so easy and effortless to be around him. I met him in London when I was taking a short-term fashion course there and he was also studying at Nottingham University, so we managed to meet often in those 4 months.DSC_5767The Official "Girl-friend"On the first day that I reached London, Shailin flew in from Belgium to meet me. He came over to my apartment (he helped me find this apartment btw) to meet me for the very first time after we fell in love in 3 months just talking on the phone! Once he saw my apartment and was satisfied that everything was set up just right for when I would be living alone, we stepped down to go for a little walk, after which he was meant to go over to his friends. Little did I know that Shailin had other plans. He asked a friend of his to get into my flat and drop a surprise on my bed. Don't worry, the friend didn't sneak in, Shailin knew the landlord and asked him a set of spare keys to set up this little jig. He dropped me off at my doorstep and when I walked in..what do I find on my bed? A beautiful orange dress with a note that said "Wear this & be ready in 15 Minutes, I'm taking you somewhere special!". I was speechless - it was like a story straight out of a romantic novel. I thought I was lucky, but really, that was just the beginning.I rushed into my dress and stepped down. The cab was waiting, with him in it, of course, and next thing I knew, we were driving all over London. I really had no clue where we were going. Suddenly, I see a glimpse of the London Eye. I was mesmerised - Shailin had booked our tickets long back and as I got out, he hugged me and took me up on that glass bubble. When we were on top of the wheel, overlooking the entire city, Shailin held my hands and asked me to be his girlfriend. Picture this - we were in the London Eye Glass Bubble, sitting on top of the world (practically), it started raining & he was asking me to be his girlfriend in the most magical way I had ever envisioned!!! This, of course, was 3 and a half years ago.Yes, it was official. We were dating and it was serious and what's more? It was a long-distance relationship. We spoke everyday though and visited each other as often as we could. He didn't come to Bombay that often but when he did, we tried to spend as much time together as possible. We didn't see each other very often in these three and a half years but when we did, I've never known any other happier feeling.DSC_6032The Final DealShailin was visiting me once again in Mumbai last week. He called me on Sunday morning and said, let's go out for lunch. He took me to a beautiful Japanese restaurant for an intimate lunch, following which I was expecting to call it a day. Towards the end of our lunch he started complaining about a stomach ache and as we were walking out he said," Why don't we walk for a bit maybe... I'll feel better. I laughed it off because there was really not a chance in hell I was going to be walking under the glaring sun at 3 pm in the afternoon. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) he asked his driver to take us to Marine Drive so we could walk for a bit. The car stopped and I refused to get off the car in this heat. 10 mins of convincing later, I finally stepped out on the condition that we would only walk a very short distance.DSC_5873We were walking for about 5 minutes and as expected, I couldn't stop complaining (although to be honest, it really wasn't that hot at all) and a caricature artist approached us and asked if we would like him to sketch us. Knowing the hopeless romantic in me (and the collector of all things 'love') he knew I could never say no to that. On a usual basis in fact I would have to convince him to sit through the long drawn minutes of having someone draw us, but this time he seemed ok so I was more than happy! We sat for a bit on the seaside while we were being 'sketched' and the naive Instagrammer in me even managed to click a quick shoefie. The artist claimed he was done and asked me to come see what he had painted of us. I stood up and walked towards him. I looked at the paper he was holding and it had a picture of the London Eye (this is where he asked to be his girlfriend 3 and a half years ago) and a boy kneeling with a ring in his hand in front of a girl.DSC_5777At the same second that I looked at the painting, a violinist and guitarist started playing Cheerleader (by OMI), which is our song, two steps away from me. I turned to look at the road and there were 6 cars with windows rolled down and phones hanging out with live Snapchats. I turned towards Shailin and he was down on his knees, holding the most beautiful ring I had ever seen, asking me to spend the rest of my life with him.He recreated the moment our love story began. Right from London's biggest landmark to Mumbai's seaside walk. I loved that when I arrived at Marine Drive, the entire scene was set but it all came alive at that one precise moment.DSC_5885A week later, there was a small Roka ceremony held between both the families. The wedding, Of course, is coming up, but only next year! For now, we're just happy!Follow Masoom's Snapchat and Insta accounts for all the magic from her #MissSFVirtualEngagement & don't forget to follow #ShailinMasoom! And hold on, we are planning more updates on this beautiful union - just you wait! Wink wink!
