Imagine the sprawling golden beach, glimmering Arabian sea, and the sky drenched in the golden colours of the sunset? How magical will this setting be for you to say your "I do's"? Yes, it will be as stunning as you can visualize it. And it clearly shows why Shivangi & Mihir chose the JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu, a haven where luxury reigns supreme. From a Sangeet with a forest theme to a vibrant Haldi and pheras that celebrated the union, the JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu played the perfect host for the couples' nuptials. Upscale comfort, chic décor, and breathtaking views provided by JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu added to the whole vibe of the wedding.
A melting pot of cultures & traditions, Shivangi & Mihir's celebrations were all about honoring their heritage. Shivangi's bridal entry was on a Gujarati song, and her entire bridal look was a reminiscence of her own Punjabi/Rajasthani heritage. The couples' primary goal at their own wedding was to have fun and thanks to the hospitality of JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu, and the constant support of their dream team of vendors, they not only had a dream wedding but had a blast at it!

Meet Shivangi & Mihir
They were introduced by a common friend. Mihir was in Melbourne, Australia and Shivangi was in Singapore when they started talking back in November 2019. Two months later, when Mihir made a work trip to Singapore and they met for the first time- it just clicked! As they kept meeting they knew they had something special and were willing to go through the pains of long distances for a bit till they figured out the logistics. Little did they know the world was at the onset of the pandemic and the borders were going to be locked for years to come. So the next 1 year included tons of virtual dates, virtual movie nights, virtual chess, and virtual meeting the family. Finally, in April 2021, Mihir moved to Singapore and they were FINALLY in the same city! Their love for dogs, Bollywood movies, dry humor, and delicious food brought them closer. Mihir popped the question in October and before they knew it they had a wedding to plan!
The Sangeet
The Haldi
The Wedding
From The Bride:
The wedding date was 14th December 2021. It was a wedding planned VIRTUALLY in two months while the couple was in Singapore and the families were in Bombay and Delhi! Mihir (born and brought up in Bombay) and Shivangi (born and brought up in Delhi) both wanted an intimate, simple, and fun wedding. But Mihir's family (Gujarati) and Shivangi's family (Punjabi/Rajasthani) had much more elaborate plans. Soon the couple knew the wedding was going to be grand and they decided to let go of nitpicking small details and just have fun! Since there were so many different cultures coming together, they picked and chose the traditions that they liked the best from each of them. Shivangi made her bridal entry to the Gujarati song "Shubh Aarambh" while wearing her Punjabi kaleeras and chuda. The pheras were outdoors and were explained in beautiful chants and songs by the famous Swapnil Mistry which made the breezy December evening that much more magical. Inside the venue, they had Jal Tarang, flute, and tabla artists. The vidaai ceremony was skipped altogether since both the families felt that it is not about the daughter bidding adieu to her family, instead, it is two families coming together! Indian weddings can become more about everyone else and less about the couple. Therefore, Mihir and Shivangi made sure to add a personal touch in little things- from their animated video invite that told their love story, to the sangeet that was hosted by the groom's brother and the bride's childhood friend (instead of professional MC's), to Shivangi's Mehendi having all of their favorite movie names. Even though the Haldi was just supposed to be a short ritual in the morning before the wedding in the afternoon, the couple made the most of it! They danced, sang, and played with flowers throughout the ceremony.
Vendor Reviews:
Venue: JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu
JW Marriott was a great venue! They were accomodating, and the services were good. The best part was the food - it was amazing.
Makeup Artist: Varsha Gidwani
She was absolutely lovely. My brief to her was that while I wanted the makeup to be glamourous, I very much wanted to look like myself and did not want a transformation at all. She delivered exactly that and her make-up was flawless!
Photographers: The Cheesecake Project
Absolutely loved them. They captured not only every key moment but key emotions so beautifully! The team was very skilled yet accommodating and Stuti's energy is absolutely infectious. She kept me light-hearted and chill through times that could have been stressful.
Decor: National Decorators
They did not cater to what was discussed, the quality of the decor (especially the mandap) was sub-par and we felt disappointed by the end of it.
Bridal Outfits: Sangeet - Manish Malhorta, Wedding - Anita Dongre
There was a lot of back and forth for sizing issues with Manish's team which created unnecessary stress. But the outfit was stunning and loved by everyone. I had an amazing experience with Anita Dongre. Even with virtual fittings, the size was right in just 1 trial. Shreya, from their team, was very helpful!
Mehendi Artist: Hansa Gajra
She is amazing. She fulfilled my crazy asks of having a dog face in my Mehendi, having the logo of Mihir's favorite football club Chelsea, all the movie names, and everything! Very calm and talented.
