Bridal beauty is a huge dinosaur to tackle! While every bride does get her mani-pedis and facials prior to the wedding, you need to take care of your skin at least 6 months in advance. Even the most luxurious facial or skin treatment won’t make a difference if you haven’t been treating your skin right beforehand! So if you aren’t looking to invest in expensive facials and treatments, here are some super amazing beauty tips and tricks that you can follow to make your own bridal skincare plan.

Drink Your Greens

Green juice is great for skin because it's oxygenating and contains vital minerals to help stimulate the lymphatic system and drain out puffiness. We know that it may taste like hell, but think about the soft and supple skin and down it!

Sleep On Silk

Use silk or satin pillowcases for smooth and line-less skin. Many brides don’t know that sleeping on regular cotton cases may cause wrinkles and lines faster than sleeping on your silk and satin cases. They also help in lessening hair breakage, so it’s a double whammy!

Exfoliate Your Skin

Dead skin cells make your skin look drab and dry. Regular exfoliation paired with a brightening serum to give you the best lit-from-within glow on your wedding day. Regular exfoliation removes dead cells to improve radiance and can enhance the absorption of skin brightening products through the skin.

DIY Masks

While sheet masks are all in rage, there is nothing like a good, old, home whipped face mask. Depending on your skin type and skin issues, pick up ingredients that work well and mash them into a face mask. Like papaya is great for dull skin while aloe vera is a god-sent for dry skin. Ensure you do this twice a week at least for optimum results.

Get Into Dry Brushing

Dry-brushing yields major skin benefits, including exfoliation and increased blood circulation (Hello healthy glow!). From an overall wellness standpoint, it also revs up the flow of lymph, the all-important fluid that whisks toxins out of our systems. Lymph relies on muscle movement to pass through the body, so if you're not an active person, dry-brushing is a wonderful tool to rid the body of waste. All you need to do is dry brush your body with some oil before your shower and you are good to go!

Deep Condition Your Hair

While hair spas can get expensive when you have them weekly, why not have them at home? After shampooing, apply your hair conditioner or mask and cover your hair with a steaming towel. Quick tip - Add a few drops of vitamin E oil into your conditioner or hair mask of choice!

Oil Your Nails

After those umpteen ring-selfies on your engagement, don’t forget your hands. Use a hydrating oil every night on your hand before you sleep. Not only will your hands be photographed the most on your mehendi day but your nails will also stay healthy.

Give Yourself A Mini Facial

Don’t want to spend the big bucks on facials and clean ups every month? Give yourself a mini-facial at home once a month. Invest in a good steamer, some blackhead removers and a couple of good creams and masks. All you need to do is – cleanse your skin, apply a gentle scrub and slog off all the dead while steaming your face, remove white/black heads, apply a rich, hydrating moisturizer and massage your skin in upward directions for 15-20 mins and then pack it all in with a face mask. Done!

Include Retinol In Your Skincare Regime

It’s the gold standard of skin care, retinol. Derived from vitamin A, the tried-and-true ingredient increases cell turnover, unclogs pores, boosts collagen, and helps diminish hyperpigmentation. Start slowly to see if it suits your skin and then bring it up.

Manage Stress

One of the major reasons that your skin looks dull or even breaks out is because of all the stress that wedding planning brings. One of the best things to do is getting adequate sleep, hitting a yoga class after work or guided meditation apps such as Headspace and Omvana

Please note that all these hacks work on normal skin. If you are suffering from any kind of skin issues or acne breakouts, we recommend visiting a dermatologists before you use any of these.
