Meet Neha & Sagar
NehaSagarTeaser from House on the Clouds on Vimeo. " Sagar and I had a lot of people in common and the first time I heard about him was in 2013. Common family friends tried to introduce us and ever since that time every 6 months we both would hear about each other from completely different sets of people, but the meeting did not materialise because of bad timing, not being in same cities and other insignificant reasons. We finally met each other in September of 2015 when Sagar was visiting India to see his new born niece for couple of days. We met once and soon after he left for Japan for a vacation. He was there for about two weeks and the one thing that really caught my attention about him was how he made every possible effort to keep in touch with me constantly while he was there (I now get to hear how I was virtually a part of his trip because he was constantly using his phone). While he was there our families met with common friends and left the decision upto us," adds Neha. " I did not get a traditional proposal though. Non-Traditional because it happened a month before the wedding! We were in Thailand for a wedding from Sagar’s family and there was this beach party on one of the days. Along the beach there was Jet skiing and other water sports happening, so we went on a jet ski and Sagar stopped the ski in the middle of the sea and got down on one knee (Or whatever was manageable on the ski bike) and asked me to marry him- while we were in the midst of planning our wedding. Must say the element of surprise was still there," explains Neha. The Brunch & Sangeet
The Wedding
From The Bride: So we got engaged in Oct 2015 and our wedding was fixed for Feb-March 2016 and the wedding was decided in Ananta Udaipur. Since we had a lot of crowd coming from Mumbai, London and Dubai we preferred keeping the wedding in a neutral place so that we can create an experience for the guests. Ananta is a beautiful luxury resort spa in Udaipur, spacious rooms ,a 5000 sq ft ballroom and 5 other different venues in the property for us to conduct functions made it a very easy choice. The wedding ceremonies started with a welcome dinner at the Oasis deck with barbeque and drinks. Rooh Band which played some sufi rock ensured everyone was relishing their evening. The second day was fusion-themed Mehendi. Traditional kachi godi welcome was extended to all the guest at the time of check-in with flower girls throwing flowers and the families welcomed them with beers and shots –( that how the Sindhi’s do it). However, the highlight was the exquisite tent of the bride where I sat. Fun photo booth and traditional folk dance kept the guests entertained. Sangeet was a premier night first day first show. It was themed,” How well you know the bride and groom”. F5 Weddings drafted a 5 point questionnaire; pre interviewed close families, hilariously edited the video and showcased the same. An entrance with LED gate was created and massive truss flying sound, light and latest state of the art infrastructure was impeccably handled," adds Neha. "Day 3 was a Bohemian style brunch - there was an island bar and over 100 custom made dream catchers hung all over the venue. Various activities were planned for a fun filled brunch like beer pong, live size Jenga, foot spa, limbo dance and hoola hoop. Now for D-Day, with a stunning mandap of white pillars and orange drapes; adorned with flowers created in an amphitheater - it was a wonderful sight. The bride entered under a traditional flower chaddar looking absolutely magnificent while the groom made a dramatic entry in an open Victorian carriage and his procession danced to madness on the beats of Gotiya band. Champagne Reception was an elite affair, with royal couples. White and mauve was the theme of the night. The bride and groom entered with cold pyros tunnel created by family and friends. A romantic dance by the couple followed by toasts and speeches and the party continued till the wee hours," adds Neha.
