Choosing a beautiful offbeat hue that looks amazing is like half the battle won when it comes to weddings. A lot of couples are steering away from the traditional, and here is a couple which planned their wedding down to the detail while sitting abroad. What we loved were the customised Anand Karaj outfits the bride and the groom chose, which were in a lovely hue of sea green, which stood out and how! Take a look for yourselves.
Meet Vidhi and Rishabh
We met in our school days back in 2010 through my cousin. I felt attracted towards her the moment I saw her, but knew she was really hard to get! Gradually I tried to know her, hang out with her, and then finally after 4 years she agreed to date me. However, 3 months after she said yes, she moved to London for higher studies and I was left back in India. People say. long distance relationships do not work, but this was the time that made me realise how deeply I was connected to her, and I could not stay a day without seeing her face. I took a short trip to London to surprise her on NYE and the days I spent with her were magical. She got back in 2015, just like any usual relationship, ours also had its own share of ups and downs but our bond only grew stronger, making us even more sure about marrying each other.

Anand Karaj
From The Groom:
Our wedding took place on April 26, 2022. Our wedding was planned exactly how my wife had envisioned it. Every event with a different vibe - a quirky day Mehndi scene, an elegant Engagement night, Haldi full of happiness and fun, the Wedding very surreal and traditional, followed by the soothing and religious Anand Karaj ceremony. We had gone with some quirky and different styling for our Mehndi outfits, elegant and contemporary designing for Engagement, completely traditional attires for the Hindu wedding, and a Sikh look for our Anand Karaj.

Vendor Reviews
Venue: The Gateway Hotel, Damdama Lake
Our wedding was a 3 day event that happened at The Gateway Hotel, Damdama Lake. Since Taj is well known for the brand that it is, choosing them was not at all a hard decision for us. The staff was very cordial and accommodating, their services were on point, the venues were pretty decent, and the food was extremely delectable.
Makeup Artist: Abhilasha Sadana
My wife checked out her insta handle and instantly decided to get her looks done by her. The main reason to choose Abhilasha was her consistency with how she managed to make every bride of hers look different in all the events. Also, she was extremely accommodating in terms of timings. Because ours was a destination wedding, and some of our events were definitely running late, but Abhilasha was too sweet to wait with her entire team and still deliver her best. She made my wife super comfortable while dolling her up, took her choices into consideration and also suggested as to what she thought would look good on her, and eventually resulted in creating a look that was an amalgamation of both! Brownie points to her hairstylist Harikesh bhaiyya - he was amazing!
Wedding Planning & Decor: Wednstyle
We met quite a few wedding planners for our wedding, but as soon as we met Nikhil, we knew we had to choose him over others. The way he was so easy going with our ideas, mixing it with his own expertise, always giving us multiple options to choose from, and always being just a call away - he had all the qualities you would want your wedding planner to have. We told him how we wanted each of the events to be different from the others, and it was great to see that he put all his hardwork in to making those 3 days look very much close to what we had imagined them to be like. He lived true to all the promises he made and his work was appreciated by almost all our guests. Usually a wedding planner's job is done once the wedding is over and the cheque is paid, but this man supported us at a time when we could not have imagined. On the wedding day, my wife lost her phone at the venue, and after a few days we got to know that the phone's location was in a village in UP. We casually asked all the vendors if any of their team members had found the phone or was from the same village, and it was Nikhil who helped us track the man from his outsourced vendor's team, went alone to that village in UP, and managed to meet that guy and get my wife's phone back - all intact and in same condition as it was earlier. This sounded like pure magic to us and he was no less than that magician who run the whole show at our wedding and even after that. Could not have found a better person than him!
Photography: Delhi Velvet
Team Delhi Velvet has been amazingly supportive since day 1. All of their team members are super talented and extremely sweet. You always need to have a certain level of comfort with the photography team because they are going to capture every single moment of your wedding. Delhi Velvet's team was so friendly and hardworking, constantly giving suggestions on how to make the pictures look better! Our main point of contact for the deliverables was Milind, somebody who had put all his efforts to make us feel content about the outputs. He was extremely considerate even in times of several iterations and edits. All in all, the whole team captured all our precious moments in the best possible way!
Bridal Outfits:
Mehndi -It was done by a designer boutique in Delhi. The design was supposed to look quirky and fun, with some uber cool thread jewellery from Phooljhadi.
Wedding - Marwar Couture: Coming to my fiancé's wedding outfit, her lehenga was from Marwar Couture - a brand embedded with royal Jodhpur heritage in every weave. She always wanted to adorn an exquisite yet traditional wedding lehenga for the day, and Marwar Couture was the one stop solution for her needs.
Anand Karaj: My fiancé 's Anand Karaj outfit was solely her design. She did not want to go with the typical baby pinks and peaches for the day ceremony, she wanted to opt for a different shade and hence chose sea green as the colour. Her anarkali suit was all hand embroidered with dabka details to give it a Sikh touch. She paired it with contrasting pink jewellery and a kundan choti on the braid along with a matching parandi to complete the look!
Bridal Jewellery:
Her mehendi jewellery was exquisite handmade thread jewellery from the brand Fooljhadi. it complemented the quirky vibe of the mehendi function and went well with her outfit. Her bridal jewellery was from Soni Sapphire.
DJ: Chetan Kapoor
He was an awesome DJ! Superb playlist, great mixing and mind blowing collection - he made sure everybody partied from dusk till dawn every freaking day!
Groomwear: Deepak S Chhabra Couture
Deepak Chabbra's collection is undoubtedly the best I have witnessed - all under one roof. He has everything starting from semi formal, to casual chic contemporary and rich traditional silhouettes. Special mention to Deepak himself who personally attend all his clients and gives exemplary fashion suggestions. I wanted to wear something unique on my wedding day and I chose to wear a manarkali - specially curated with hand embroidered ensembles in matching colours with my fiancé 's bridal outfit, making it look culturally rich and traditional.
