Malaysia is a new destination for us for an Indian wedding and kudos to this couple for pulling it off at a beautiful resort with friends and family. From the word go, there are lots of personalised details at this wedding - from a Helicopter entry of the groom to the hashtag that was visible in the most interesting of details. Divisth Kakkar Photography captured the candid moments beautifully and it really looked like a fun do.
Meet Sonam & Vidush
"Vidush is from Delhi and I am from Mumbai. We met in San Francisco 3 years ago on March 29th 2013. Both of us work in California. We love travelling and living it up. Vidush proposed to me On Feb 14th 2016 in Capadoccia Turkey with a surprise trip on Valentine’s Day. It was a surprise trip and we were enjoying a hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia when Vidush went down on his knees and popped the question, with a beautiful ring no less. And on the balloon were two other people - a professional photographer and a violinist who played ‘Kabhi Toh Baadal Barse’ sung by Arijit Singh as Vidush proposed. And we are getting married in Langkawi, Malaysia on December 17th 2016 at Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort and Spa.Our wedding hash tag is #JUJUkaSONA," explains Sonam.
The Mehendi
The Intimate Dinner
The Wedding
From The Bride:
"We always wanted a wedding full of fun and we also wanted it to be as intimate as possible. We had a total of 120 people at our wedding - it was the perfect crowd. Close friends and family flew from all over the world (Dubai, USA, Canada, India, Kuwait...) to Malaysia. The first event was a Meet and Greet event filled with games like volley ball, a shoe game, limbo etc. We also had a fire show on the beach. It was the perfect first event filled with dancing. The second event was a Mehendi and Sangeet night at another private island - Rebak island. Guests enjoyed a short boat ride to another island where we danced another night. The pheras were early morning on the beach. The mandap was inspired from various pinboards on WedMeGood. I had a western Reception the same evening complete with pre-assigned seating, a fun first dance, speeches, performances and more. It was a gala that lasted for 3 days" explains Sonam.
