How cuh-yoot are the signages at this christian affair? Absolutely adorable ! It's double-dhamaka day at WMG today with two beautiful weddings being showcased to perfection. The bride Elishava and the groom Pronnoy couldn't have chosen a better venue to get married - the natural beauty at the venue was beautifully enhanced by their decorators who gave both the Hindu and Christian weddings their own twist of tradition and modernity. Meet Pronnoy & Elishava
"Prannoy and me have known each other for over 18 years before tying the knot as we went to boarding school together in Lovedale since we were 8 years old. After multiple attempts at dating while in University, being in separate continents got the better of us. In 2011, we both moved to Bangalore to begin our careers and started dating again. In 2014, Prannoy proposed to me and had to convince our families that we were ready for marriage," explains Elishava.
The Christian Wedding
From The Bride:
"Our wedding was in Feb 2016 and was a coming together of our families with mine being half Naga and Telugu and Prannoy's being from Assam. We had two weddings a day apart, the first being a Hindu Wedding incorporating Assamese traditions and the second being a Christian wedding.
The Assamese wedding was Kickstarted by the 'juroon' which is a traditional Assamese ceremony which is essentially a bridal shower in which the grooms family blesses the bride. The Juroon was followed by a wedding conducted by a Hindu Priest which included the seven Pheras.
As a bride, for me simplicity was key,I wanted everything to be simple and yet beautiful in its way. I wanted it to be a happy place for people to come too and witness the wedding. For people to mingle with each other and get to know each other. So we had only a small gathering of 150 people and kept it private. Key Detailing was important so Nilma, our decorator took care of that. Everyone was in their traditional clothes, Prannoy's family being Assamese in mekhalas and my moms side being Naga in their attire," says Elishava.
"The theme of the Assamese wedding was to be minimal, colourful, and elegant giving the families a happy day out in the Sun on the lawns with an open bar :) which was beautifully executed by Nilma's team who we worked closely with for a couple of months and captured by George's photography which was perfection. He was extremely involved with the whole process and captured every frame and moment story wise understanding and contributing to it all. His pictures speak a thousand words and they're so aesthetically executed," adds Elishava.
