You know love can move mountains. But this time, love and beautiful outfits seem to be stealing the show over at the newest film on the roster - Bajirao Mastani. The Deepika - Ranveer - Priyanka starrer with all that outfit and decor inspiration thanks to Sanjay Leela Bhansali is sure to make her heads go crazy this winter.
Going on the heels of the very exuberant Ram-Leela, this love saga is going to light our screens on fire with all that passion and beauty - ah, let's not even get into the beautiful decor and screenshots that Sanjay Leela Bhansali creates - so much decor inspiration. The outfits do play an important role in the film, designed and styled by Anju Modi, ace designer and couturier.
The regal and royal look that was showcased in the trailer was a delight - light fabrics, bold jewellery and all those marathi influences in terms of nose-rings and draped dupattas. There were mind-boggling details and quaint decor influences and vivid characters - and clothes had to be designed keeping in mind the lifestyle and religious influences - Bajirao + Kashibai = very Hindu and Mastani as a Muslim.
Deepika's look was very interesting - there were strong Hyderabadi Nizam influences referring to her heritage. Traditional marathi jewellery was used on Kashibai - with a beautiful bindi shaped like a half-moon and nathni and rani haars, along with glimpses of a nauvari sari. And then, there is the beautiful brocade turban with jewellery on it - that will surely become a statement piece in the days to come! With ensembles that highlight marked influences of the traditional Marathi outfits, and the authentic Persian costumes, each piece is a page from the book of history, illustrating that time and era through this narrative.
The film’s newest title track “Deewani Mastani” was launched at Day One of Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2015 with Deepika Padukone walking the ramp in a beautiful Anju Modi creation - jhoomar and nosering intact. And we are loving it!
Take a look at what makes this movie a delight for every bride-to-be. Beautiful locales ( Chowmahalla Palace girls) and huge old-school chandeliers and beautiful noserings. Oh, let's not forget the beautiful textiles! So much #bridalinspiration!
