So it’s your girlfriend’s special day to let her hair down for the one last time as a single girl. And it is your duty as her friend (and bridesmaid!) to make that a memorable one! Now, keep in mind that every bride and every bachelorette party is different. However, there are a few golden rules of bachelorette etiquette to stick to, no matter what the specifics are.- Thou shall make it all about the bride: The absolute, most important rule of etiquette is this: You are celebrating a very special bride-to-be, and this weekend is all about her. In the frenzy to plan, one loses sight of this, and makes the festivities about them and what they want to do. But trust me—if you want to have a happy bride-to-be, keep it about her. While you may want a crazy girls gone wild night, she might prefer a more classy affair.
- Thou shall arrange a sash, a crown or other props : You can head to your nearest party hunterz shop or get it customised but every bride to be needs some paraphernalia on her bachelorette to really feel like the queen bee
- Thou shall ask the bride before uploading anything to social media : You’ll want to be extra careful when Instagramming or Facebooking over a bachelorette weekend. Be sure to check with the bride and other guests before sharing, especially if the celebration gets rowdy. The bride may also want to respect those she did not invite by keeping the photos private.
- Thou shall tip off the groom to send a special something for the bride: Not all grooms would think of doing something like this, but the bride would absolutely love a little surprise gift, note or just chocolates or flowers from the groom.
- Thou shall make sure the bride gets a ton of free drinks : Whether it involves playing a drinking game, or going upto people in the bar saying "Im tying the knot so buy me a shot", you need to ensure the bride is sufficiently drunk on the hands of other people. - Thou shall make some fun games to get the party started: Read this article here about bachelor party games to really up the ante
- Thou shall make noise: We like hooting, hollering, standing on chairs, and friends encouraging one another.
- Thou shall organise a theme based cake/ cupcakes: Whether you want a cake that is pretty graphic in nature, or cupcakes with little pieces of lingerie drawn on them - a cake that is the talking point is a must.'
- Thou shall make sure everyone invited has one common branding item they sport: You could have all the girls wear bright lipsticks, or ask everyone to wear pink, or maybe just ask everyone to come in flip flops- it makes you stand out as a group and will be remembered later on
