Coronavirus has brought the big fat Indian wedding to a halt! To say that it ruined wedding plans would be an understatement. However, with certain relaxations announced at the start of May 2020, we saw many couples choose the most intimate settings and have home weddings instead of a big one with large gathering. One of the major reasons for that was the lack of a venue!

As of June 10, 2020, the rules are still the same and you are only allowed to have a wedding with the gathering of 50 people! All states, except West Bengal, have allowed gathering of up to 50 people, while West Bengal has only allowed gathering of up to 25 people for weddings.
So, if you wish to go ahead and get married, with your near and dear ones attending it over zoom or other forms of video call, we say, go ahead! After all, love shouldn't have to wait, right? And yes, all of us do not have houses big enough to host 25-30 people at a given time, therefore it makes the best sense to host even intimate weddings at an outdoor venue. With Unlock 1.0 being announced, and restaurants and hotels being given permission to re-open from 8th June, 2020, it will be easier to host your wedding at an outside venue, after undertaking all the safety measures!
So, as of June 10, 2020, here is a list of what city is open and have venues ready to host weddings -
Bangalore
Karnataka is slowly opening up and the restrictions have been eased in all areas except containment zones. As a result, venues across the city of Bangalore are now open to host weddings of up to 50 people! You can check out some amazing ones like The Groves, Tranquil Woods by Jade and more!
Delhi
Unfortunately, the venues in Delhi are still closed. A few hotels in Gurgaon are open but no venues in Delhi have been given permission to host weddings as of now. You can have weddings at home, and you do not need to acquire any special permission for that anymore. However, the number remains the same - no more than 50 people!
Mumbai
In the entire state of Maharashtra, according to government regulations, weddings are only allowed with the maximum of 50 people and while maintaining all social distancing measures. However, as Mumbai has been one of the worst affected cities because of Coronavirus, the venues in this city are shut as of now.
Hyderabad
Telangana has eased down restrictions in all areas except containment zones and the weddings are allowed with a gathering of up to 50 people. So, a few venues in Hyderabad, the capital city, are open to host weddings as of now. Places like JPL Convention, Citadel, and Dream Valley Resorts are open for business!
Jaipur
Rajasthan has shut its borders again, amid growing number of cases of Coronavirus. However, weddings are still allowed with a gathering of up to 50 people. Jaipur, one of the most popular cities for destination weddings, is also opening up to host weddings. You can't have a destination wedding there, but if you live in Jaipur, or surrounding cities, venues like the Swarna Mahal, Hotel Suryagarh and more are now accepting bookings to host intimate weddings.
Goa
While Jaipur is opening up, the favourite beach destination for weddings, Goa, is still shut. No venues across the city are yet open to host weddings! However, 50 people weddings are still allowed, if you can host one at your home and adhere to all social distancing measures!
This is it then, the entire list that we have so far! We will keep updating this as and when the Government of India announces new rules and regulations.
