Anamika Khanna at India Couture Week 2016: Vision in White!

Anamika Khanna has always been the elusive one. We don't see much of her and we don't usually hear much about her. And you can tell, that each piece is carefully constructed and handcrafted to perfection and the creativity just is mind-blowing.
The bummer though: You don't get to see enough of her work - not on social media, not online, not even at weddings. And when we do get a straight-up chance to feed off her collection at Couture Week this year, we just couldn't be happier. We trotted off to the venue and got as much Anamika Khanna as we wanted to our heart's content. The best looks we loved, just for you. Special thanks to ANX Media by Anchal Seth for these beautiful shots and would you look at how pretty Sonam looks :)
The collection is called ‘When Time Stood Still’ and it followed her signature style - simple silhouettes, complicated cuts and effortless dressing. “I wanted to draw attention to the fact that we are so wrapped up in our digital lives that there is little room for real romance. It’s an abstract concept but I built on it,” says Anamika Khanna in an interview with vogue.in. And to top it off, she collaborated with Amrapali Jaipur for jewellery that was stunning.
There are a few things that Anamika always delivers on - cuts and minimal / abstract embroideries. And this time too, she went the minimalist route, but the pieces were more Sangeet-friendly and Mehendi-friendly, not as heavy as we would like for a wedding. But that's really her charm, her clothes are meant for a bride who loves that subtlety. We loved the layering her pieces come with - almost naturally. But sometimes, the fully-covered collared look might just be a bit too fierce for the everyday bride. That said, the minimalistic pants and the sheer wraps were our favourites, so much fun!
