An Eco-Chic Manner of Saying 'I Do'
A truly sensational bride, who does not live by the usual and opted to pair an otherwise lush mint green saree with a unique hat, Devanshi Jain collaborated with wedding decor connoisseurs, The A-Cube Project to create the mandap, aka wedding canopy of her dreams. Shedding insight about the same, the bride wanted to 'create a unique and minimalistic setting for her wedding.' After five months of careful deliberations and discussions, they all unanimously agreed on the final rendition of the decor that came to life in what seemed like a carefully ruminated-over minimalistic approach for her mandap based on the wabi-sabi theory of design- a coherent reflection of the bride's personal aesthetic.
Reducing wastage, thanks to the aesthetic philosophy of cha-no-yu, originating in fifteenth-century Japan, the wabi-sabi theory emphasizes the beauty of imperfection, simplicity, and natural materials. Through their concentrated effort of having no floral detailing on the mandap and eco-friendly, complementary decor around, an ombre pink-to-white origami installation came to life that captivated everyone's attention as the only statement element, lending seamless character to the canopy set against the royal backdrop of the luxurious Leela Palace, Jaipur. Take you all on a visual treat, here's how this eclectic, yet meaningful mandap weathered all the twists and turns, rightly naming it 'The Folds of Love'.
