All The Deets From The Grand Ambani Engagement

The youngest scion of the family, Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant had their lavish engagement at the Ambani residence, and it was an affair to be reckoned with. Bollywood, sportspersons, industrialists and celebrities from all walks of life turned up at this grand celebration, dressed in their finest. There were a lot of cute little details too, like the family dog being the ring-bearer, and the performances that could put any B-town movie choreography to shame. Let's take a look at all that went down, and of course, who wore what!

The Outfits

The bride-to-be, Radhika Merchant wore a dainty gold lehenga for her engagement, designed by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. She wore a gold silk tissue ghagra hand-embroidered in the finest zardozi work using gold zari, crystals and resham. A hand-made naqshi border and a fully hand-embroidered nude silk tulle blouse and dupatta provide the final flourish.

Shloka Ambani, Nita Ambani and Isha Ambani all chose Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla for the big event too, and looked like a vision. Shloka wore a mesmerising aqua satin Lotus ghagra, with multicolour pastel blooms, joyously hand-embroidered with silk threads, crystals and sequins sheets with pearl and crystal borders.

Nita Ambani, the mother of the groom kept things traditional with a spectacular, beige gold calendar ghagra hand-embroidered with complex blocks of zardozi, chikankari, patola resham, crystals and sequins, edged with burnt orange gold borders.

Isha Ambani also wore an elegant chikankari Abu Jani outfit- a sharara-sherwani combo with a dupatta and extravagant zardozi borders.

The "surprise" ringbearer

It was none other than the family's golden retriever. Anant Ambani's older sister Isha Ambani Piramal announced the surprise. The dog, the ring attached to its neck with a bright red ribbon, ran to the stage where Anant - with some help from brother Akash Ambani - removed the ring.

The Guests- Who Wore What

A whole lot of celebrities were spotted attending the engagement- from Shah Rukh Khan, his wife Gauri Khan and son Aryan to Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan with her daughter Aaradhya, Karan Johar and Katrina Kaif, the event was pretty star-studded.
