Where do we even start with this wedding? It was all kinds of wonderful, right from a 'serendipity' style love story to planning it to perfection in 3 weeks! Akshmin and Sumer's Delhi wedding was a celebration of their love with their near and dear ones, and we loved the fact that every event was stageless so that the couple could mingle and enjoy their own wedding to the hilt! And yes, if you're a bride-to-be, you might want to bookmark, screenshot or pin the bride's outfit here! The bride's kurta-gharara was beautiful, and that too from a hidden gem- check it out for yourself!
Meet Akshmin and Sumer
We first met in 2010 during DU's extensive fest gala, added each other on Facebook and forgot about each other after that. Cut to December 2019 when my family was groom hunting for me on Shaadi.com, Sumer was settled in Singapore and as an experiment to show his colleagues how matrimonial sites worked joined Shaadi.com. He came across my profile, realized we knew each other from somewhere and sent me a text. The rest, as they say, Is history or in our case 'ourstory'. We were continuously talking to each other and the next thing I know is he was in India and wanted to meet. While the meeting was magical we still took our time to know each other well before deciding this was it. We introduced our families and everyone gelled well with each other. But between all this Covid struck, and with Singapore closing all kinds of travel it became impossible to meet. We took this test of time in our stride and continued long distance for two years.

Wedding
From The Bride:
We planned the wedding in just 3 weeks. Luckily, my sister-in-law was getting married on the 12th of November so we stole many of her vendors including her Mehendi artist, decorator and even the venue. I couldn't thank my stars enough when I found out all the vendors I wanted were available. We envisioned our wedding to be intimate and minimalistic and that's precisely how it turned out to be. It was a fun-filled celebration with our family. Because it was a Sikh wedding, we kicked off the celebrations with an engagement/ cocktail function at the Oberoi to party our hearts out, followed by Mehendi and Haldi the next day for that traditional Punjabi touch. Sumer's Baraat was a full swing celebration in itself. Everyone including my side of the family joined the Baraat and danced. Our Anand Karaj was beautiful intimate ceremony followed by lunch and dance at the Oberoi. We purposely decided not to have a stage at any of the functions and it was the best decision. We were able to mingle with everyone.
Vendor Reviews

Loved working with them. They understood our vibe and captured everything in its element. They are very prompt with their deliverables.

She's a magician and has an air of ease around her. She arrived before her allotted time and had me ready before time as well. I wanted a fresh. dewy, minimal look and she nailed it.
Bridal Wear: Ameeran Clothing
I wanted a traditional outfit that could become an heirloom piece and I found that at Ameeran. Ameeran by Ashish and Shweta is a must-visit if you love rich, traditional outfits. They have some beautiful trousseau pieces as well. Ashish understood my vision and showed me a dupatta which was in works for the last 2 years. It was love at first sight for me and Ashish quickly designed a Kurta-Gharara to go with it. They are extremely patient, co operative and super warm.
