A Royal Suryagarh Wedding With The Bride & Groom In Padmavat Inspired Outfits

We've seen brides be inspired by Bollywood more often than not. Anushka Sharma & Deepika Padukone served some seriously inspiring looks and we've seen brides replicate that ever since. However, Mehal & Jophy really impressed us by dressing up in outfits inspired by the movie Padmavat. The famous Ghoomar song was their source and the designers helped create the most gorgeous outfits - the same ones with a touch of personalization for the couple, and Mehal & Jophy looked incredible in those. Mehal wowed us with every outfit though - from the all-white look with serious silver jewellery, she wore for her after wedding function to the thigh-high cut in the gown she chose for her cocktail and even the large nath she wore along with a beautiful lehenga for the welcome lunch! It was a wedding as Royal as it gets and we bet you'll be pinning it for inspiration to your mood boards right away.

From The Bride: 

Ours was a 3-day affair in Suryagarh, Jaislamer, from 20th Feb to 22nd Feb. Jophy being a Christian Malayali and me being a Hindu Marwari-Punjabi, it was a cross religion and cross-culture wedding making sure we celebrated all the rituals. Our idea was to make it extremely elegant yet lux & filled with warmth and creativity. For example, we had an event by the name MalWari (Malayali + Marwari) the next day of the wedding on 22nd Feb which celebrated food and music from both the cultures that have now become one.

Words fall short when it comes to them. Janaki Desai's approach already makes you feel like she's painting the most magical wedding for you. Apeksha was the pillar in the whole process. My God! The attention to the tiniest details, the class in their work, and creativity were just mind-blowing! The easiest team we worked with and hands down most satisfied wedding partner too!

My wedding outfit was a special one. I wore the same attire worn by Deepika Padukone from Padmavat's Jauhar scene. Designer Rimple helped me make it a tad heavier but I had the biggest smile, with open hair and smokey eyes.
