Shelly and Ishan's regal pastel wedding at Noormahal Palace in Karnal was an ethereal affair. It had the vibe of a palace wedding, and we loved how elegant everything looked- like a modern fairytale that's come to life!

Meet Shelly and Ishan

We are both software engineers who met while working at the same company. When I joined the company, there were only two seats left on that floor, and one of them was next to Ishan. I was assigned to that seat by chance. Since I'm quite reserved, I don't think our paths would have crossed if we hadn't sat next to each other. It feels like destiny and God's plan that brought us together. So it began with morning greetings and a mutual feeling of crush and butterflies in the stomach whenever our eyes met. One day, he turned to me and asked me out to dinner... and that's how it all began with that one date. We dated for 5 years, knowing all along that we were meant to be together. In November 2023, he got down on one knee and proposed to me at the perfect beach location. It was the proposal of my dreams.

We envisioned our wedding as a day event with pastel flowers and a soft, romantic theme, as these colors resonate with us and give a timeless appeal to the overall setting. We’ve always preferred minimal elegance over anything too loud, letting the simplicity and elegance of each detail shine through.

I always imagined myself as a pastel bride, resembling a princess at my daytime wedding, with a glowing, dewy complexion and rosy makeup to enhance my natural beauty. This look allowed me to feel like myself but elevated. A pastel lehnga allowed me to stand out while maintaining a balance between tradition and modern aesthetics.

We chose NoorMahal for its luxurious palace ambience and regal charm.

Without a wedding planner, it was just Ishan and me handling all the research, and WedMeGood made it so much easier. Makeup Artist: Arshi Kaur Pros

She did an excellent job with the makeup—it looked fabulous, and she listened to all my requests as well. Cons: She almost cancelled on me a day before the wedding, agreed to come after a lot of requests. However, she was in a rush to leave, which created a rushed atmosphere for me. The stylist on her team didn’t drape my dupatta well due to the rush, so I had to hold it in place all day. I ended up redoing my hair and adjusting the dupatta multiple times during the wedding.
