We love the idea of a bride in white- what was seriously thought to be a "Christian" bridal colour has now found it's way for brides of any and every religion, and we love how brides are taking a chance and picking the elegance of a white lehenga for their wedding day too. "I am from Malaysia, my husband and I went to school together. He is Hindu and I am Sikh- we opted for a Hindu ceremony at Glasshouse Seputeh here in Kuala Lumpur. So much thought went into it and so much effort from our wedding planners, photographers, decorators, videographers, friends and family."

The Wedding

We started off exchanging rings and vows before proceeding to the Hindu ceremony for which I changed into a pastel yellow saree from Sri Lankan designer iBride Indi Yapa. My white lehenga was from Amrita Thakur in Delhi.

The Reception

From The Bride:

We agreed from the start that we wanted an intimate wedding with lots of natural light because everything looks better when there’s sunshine. I think we brought nature indoors, with a warm and pastel colour palette. The WMG app and instagram was such an inspiration for me throughout wedding planning. Thank you for all the work you put in inspiring brides near and far.

Wedding Planner

Sherly from Tie The Knot basically took all of my ramblings and many, many inspo pictures and turned it into this for us. She looked into every detail for us and I’ll forever grateful. The best part was how easy it was to communicate our every whim and fancy with her, more like a friend than a planner.

Photographers

We had two photographer teams. One is Moderate Films who also did our videography and photography of Mehndi & Maiyaan events. The other is louisganphotography. Both Shiva and I are awkward in front of the camera. I love how they captured us so beautifully. Shiva never smiles in photos but he’s smiling in nearly every photo at our wedding!

Makeup Artist

My MUA was JastinaMUA. When I looked in the mirror after she was done, I couldn’t have been happier truly. She is incredibly skilled and has magic hands.
