These are the weddings that we love the most! Yep, wholesome weddings which are just about love and warmth, and have that something that sets them apart. Couples who defy the odds or take the road less chosen. Here is another such couple, who found love after 40, which is usually not the norm in our society- but hope it becomes soon! Yasmin is a production designer who designs sets for Bollywood films and OTT shows and Karan works in Advertising- so literally a creative match made in heaven! Hiraaya by Aayushi did a fabulous job on capturing the essence of this one on her lens!
Meet Yasmin and Karan
A mutual friend wanted to setup pre-pandemic, but we didn't end up meeting. Luckily for us she was remarkably persistent and we met in 2022. The rest shall we say is history.
Wedding
From The Couple:
Our wedding took place on April 7, 2024 at Mumbai. When we decided to get married we originally thought we would just go to court and have a party afterwards. Our parents wanted us to have a ceremony and we listened to them, and are our very happy that we did because we had the most beautiful, happy and memorable wedding. The whole wedding was planned quite quickly, we had a sentimental date in mind and worked to meet that date which was just a few weeks later. Luckily we had the most amazing people helping us plan the wedding. This wedding would not have been possible without Natasha from Naara weddings and Aayushi from Hiraaya, and friends who stepped in to plan this whole event.
We were not fixed on a theme or style in advance. After locking on the location we had a discussion with Natasha of Naara weddings. She presented us with a mood board which we loved which also worked seamlessly with the location and with an event that started in the early evening and continued into the night. We went with white and light pastel colours and flowers. The overall venue looked spectacular. What we loved was the little detailing that Naara weddings did, that really made the wedding very personal and special to us. As an ode to the bride who always wears flowers in her hair, there were little giveaways of flower hair clips, there was a mini golf setup in the corner as the groom loves golf, The giveaways had a thank you card with a print of a special piece of art made by the brides sister. All the things we wanted were incorporated into the wedding, the flowers for blessing the couple were Jasmine (Motia) inspired by the brides name and were wrapped in the Individual banana leaf cones. There were little brass bells for the guests to ring at auspicious and happy moments. We did not have a large wedding, the total guest list was a 100 people, but we really wanted the event to be special, and that was done by Hiraaya and Naara. The photographers from Hiraaya made sure they captured and took pictures of everyone who attended, we have such amazing solo and group photos of all our friends and family. Besides the posed photos, we loved the candid photos that Hiraaya took. A lot of our favourite photos and videos from the wedding are the candid ones. Really enjoyed seeing pictures of family and friends specially in moments that we didn't see in person. One of the most special photos of the wedding was taken when Hiraaya and the Naara compare worked together and right after the ceremony finished, managed to get a photo of everyone at the wedding.
We had a small wedding of a 100 people and as such people wondered why we were hiring such experts, but I am so glad that we did. Naara and Hiraaya did there work so well and so professionally that we didnt need to worry or stress at all and could really enjoy the wedding and the lead up to it.
Vendor Reviews
Photography: Hiraaya By Aayushi
Beautiful memories are captured in beautiful photographs. The photos taken by Hiraaya are incredible, capturing every candid moment of emotion and celebrations. Whenever we look at our wedding pictures, we are transported back to that moment and feeling, reliving the magic. I would highly recommend Hiraaya. Aayushi and the team were incredible to work with, from the beginning Aayushi understood what we wanted from the photographs. Hiraaya went above and beyond and even helped us plan timelines and how to slot in a few photo sessions. The team was professional, courteous, impeccably dressed and always on time. They captured the whole wedding beautifully from getting ready to the afterparty. They were an amazing mixture between being unobtrusive and taking candid pictures, yet being around when you wanted them to take a picture.
Wedding Planning: Naara Weddings
We went with Natasha from Naara weddings to a few different venues. We were originally going to only have a lunch function at Kino cottage our final location, but Natasha suggested that we setup a Mandap at the location and that we have a sundowner wedding against the sea followed by an afterparty.
Natasha from Naara weddings was incredible. Very thorough and detailed. She helped us find the venue and then from a very small brief she put together a mood board which captured what we wanted. She only had a couple of weeks to put the whole wedding together and she did it so well, that the guests felt that the wedding had been planned months earlier. The whole process was completely stress free and we really got to enjoy the wedding and the lead up to it. She incorporated all of the personalised details that we wanted and really made this wedding special for us. We really couldn't have done this without Naara Weddings.
Makeup Artist: Priyalisa
Priyalisa who did the makeup was great. She understood what I wanted immediately, which was a no makeup, makeup look and she made me look incredible. I have very sensitive skin and I react to a lot of different makeup, she worked with me on the lead up to the wedding to make sure that nothing would make my skin react.
