VIDAI . Generally a ‘vidai’ / ‘bidai’ can be a very sad time where the bride bids farewell to her family but we wanted this to be a happy celebration of 2 families becoming one ? . So what did we do to change that? We opted for our guests to do Mexican waves down the isle as we smiled & waved at our family & friends as we walked past. It was one of my favourite changes we made to an old tradition as I didn’t shed a single tear on the most happiest day of my life ? . BRIDAL DETAILS . Our stunning floral haars (and all my floral jewellery during the wedding) was from @maarifloral ? They made my vision come to reality and we even gave all the ladies & girls a beautiful dainty pearl and flops tikka along with gorgeous artificial flowers for them to wear in the Mexican heat ☀️ . My jewellery was from non other than @reddotjewels who @estecouture helped me source and pick! I love that I went for simple ‘karda’ or thick bangles so to speak for the final look as this worked perfectly for me in the heat ? It also couldn’t have been more perfect to match the hints of green in my bridal blouse ? . Gota pati is my absolute favourite type of embroidery which I knew I had to have on my wedding outfit. It hand hints of rose gold to compliment my husbands sherwani. I love that @ektasolanki embroidered my bridal outfit with hints of green thread work within the floral design of the blouse and borders of my dupattas ? It was so unique and complimented the outfit so well including the perfect jewellery too! I was beyond happy with the outcome and love my wedding outfit so, so much ?? . Proud to introduce this gem of a summer wedding from Fiji Islands, featuring the Bridelan couple Trisha Khatri @trisha.khatri and Veeral Patel @veepat007. Trisha, the bride, is a vision of elegance, in all its purity and serenity. I’ve always championed elegance over the louder, and maybe more popular, concepts of Indian weddings. It was not too difficult to style Trisha, as she has a quiet dignity and soft gentle charm about her. She took me back to a utopian world and left me wondering if people like her even exist. Trisha made a conscious choice to be simple and classic on her D-day. There was only one Sabyasachi lehenga she had an eye for. While selecting real jewellery for the wedding, Trisha kept going back to this one pendant her father had gifted her as the only jewellery she would wear on her wedding. Eventually, she settled for something grander but made everything around it minimalistic. She has a good taste for decor. Ditto with Veeral. He and I went around Mumbai, browsing every designer store and the looked at most fashionable of Indian groom ideas. Finally, he settled for the most understated silk textured embroidered sherwani by Sabyasachi. Trisha and Veeral’s wedding will be remarkable in years to come. As designers and designs will keep getting fancier and there will be newer innovations to trousseau their wedding photos will remind us of a purer time and how to be true to yourself is the best vision of elegance there can ever be.
