My dream of a destination wedding was fulfilled at Marinha Dourada. It is the most amazing, warm and beautiful hotel I've been in Goa. All the aspects that make a location worth the event were met here. My wedding took place in June, not the best times to be in Goa, but i had no other dates due to a family situation. i had a 3- day functions complete with Mehendi, pool party, Sangeet and Shaadi. this place was just super, I couldn't have asked more! 1. Space: The Hotel has 1 open lawn, 2 banquets, 1 semi outdoor space, a mandap. All the spaces are well planned. We couldn't use the lawn because of the rains. But both the indoor locations were well connected, vast, airy. Good arrangements for DJ, lights. 2. The Ambiance: The Hotel land is spectacular. With the lake views and swimming pool, a very goan style architecture. 3. Rooms: This is a very important aspect when it comes to comfort. The rooms over here are very pretty and homely. They are spacious, well lit, have balconies. Some rooms are swimming pool facing, while some are lake facing. Both are beautiful views. And the best part is they have more than 100 rooms, of all the same type. So no nakhra for your guests. ;) 4. Food: Since I am a Punjabi, i was really worried about this, thinking will this Goan place meet the expectations of my guests? And they exceeded it! Such lovely food. We had a variety of non veg and veg items, cooked with so much attention. I am not a big fan of huge spreads, so this place worked for me, coz we had a very selective, well planned spread ensuring a perfect combination of dishes with a Goan zing. If you are a fan of run of the mill wedding menus this place is not for you. 5. Service: Remarkable. The manager, Mr. Edwin is a very genuine and sweet person. the chefs, all the waiters, bell boys were very helpful, alert and at your service at all times. Good coordination and well managed. I didn't experience any glitches from their end. Simply amazing. Also the bride (mine) and the groom's (my husband) room was complimentary. :) 6. Costs: It is the best deal we could get. Really affordable and extremely great quality services. Finally, Warning: If you are looking for a run of the mill wedding menu , don't choose this place. Go for it if you warm, classy, homely and nature inspired is your style!
