Want to live la dolce vita on your honeymoon? Head to one of the most romantic destinations in the world: Italy. From relaxing seaside resorts to glamorous metropolitan cities, the European country that gave us pizza, pasta and so much more is heaven for newlyweds.
Italy always deserves a spot in the honeymoon conversation and Real Bride Megha tells us why
“We chose Italy because we knew it had everything we wanted in a honeymoon – beautiful coast, good food, good wine, and all the la dolce vita energy that we needed after the hecticness that was planning a wedding, a perfect mix of an adventure and relaxing holiday.” -shares Megha
Where to Stay?
Hotel Santa Catarina in Amalfi and local Airbnbs to explore
Where to eat?
Donna Stella in Amalfi and Centrale Cafe in Naples are some of our favourites.
Must-Try
Local pasta-making class, picturesque vineyard tour, and picturesque and admiring the architecture while sipping on espresso and eating Gelatos.
Must-Visit Spots
The Piazzas late at night in Naples and Florence and Fiordo di Furore in Amalfi cannot be missed!
From The Bride:
"Starting from Naples, a true gem in Italy. We instantly fell in love with the coffee, almost 3-4 cups a day and lots of gelatos, mmmm! We then went to Amalfi where we experienced a bit of rain as well as summer, it was perfect! Our beach days were sunny and during our stroll around the city it was romantic.
I would definitely recommend Hotel Santa Catarina in Amalfi, the view is stunning and the property is a vibe! The meal at this family run restaurant, Donna Stella was very warming and truly a Mamma Mia experience!
We stayed in a lot of beautiful Airbnbs throughout our trip and wouldn’t have had it any other way.
We then moved up to Florence to immerse ourselves in the architectural beauty of Italy. We made some lovely friends from around the world by just exploring the city of foot (And Lots of Gelato) and through our pasta making class and vineyard tour! I love how the people in Italy are so so welcoming, our favourite thing to do was to enter shops just to greet them with a super energetic “Ciao”!
Milan was our last stop which we had saved for all our shopping. Definitely enjoyed the food, culture and people more in Florence, Naples and Amalfi as Milan has a very modern day city vibe, but they definitely know their fashion. We could spend hours just people-watching!
We cannot wait to go back and cover more of Italy, there is so much to that place!"
Pro Tip
The best time to visit Italy is May to mid-June. The sunny weather pulls many crowds in the peak summer months. Also, the sea is all warmed up, so it’s a great time for swimming and boating on the Amalfi Coast.
