Ananya writes "Hi guys. While you guys have me sorted in terms of planning my wedding which is a year and a half away, how about some ideas on what I should wear as a guest to all my friends weddings coming up? Sarees are done to death, and anarkalis get boring after a while. Any ideas that are unique?" Hi Ananya, ofcourse we have ideas ! While the regular saree and anarkali is a no-brainer, if you really want to make a fashion forward entrance, here are some sure fire, new age silhouettes to try out.

#1 . The Crop top Lehenga

Absolutely OBSESSED with the crop top lehenga silhouette. It is SUCH a fun look for the friend of the bride and honestly such an effortless look to pull off without breaking the bank. While the crop tops above are from Ridhi Mehra, you could totally get your own crop top made with a plainish skirt for an easy, fuss free, inexpensive but fashion forward look. Make sure your hair is up with the high neck, add chunky earrings and you are set.

#2 The Peplum Lehenga

Another favourite, this one is probably best suits for really narrow, skinny girls because the peplum frame exaggerates the hip, Again- these are with minimal embroidery and just small borders and motifs along with this silhouette is enough to give a chic twist to the regular lehenga. FYI- the ones above are by J by Jannat.

#3 The Pallazo Kurta

One of my personal favourite silhouettes, and one that flatters all body shapes. A straight kurta (get a colorblocked one in raw silk) , along with wide legged pallazos- make it an outfit you could transition at wearing for someones engagement, to wearing for a day puja! I wore one here - super affordable and super chic.

#4 The Masaba Saree

Masaba Gupta's sarees are like Non-sarees. They are probably way different than the regular sarees in your wardrobe and some of her prints like the camera print etc are really fun and new age.

#5.The Jacket

Every girl needs one of these in her closet. The best thing about them is that you can just buy one, and wear it over your existing anarkalis/ kurtas/ sarees and completely twist up the entire look ! So fab and versatile as well.
