#WeddingTrend: How to Use Pantone's New Colour Of The Year 2016!

A new colour that's trending and our ears perk up. Really, as the year draws to an end, we needed a softer note to start off 2016 with. By now, you already know that 2016 is jampacked with goodness for weddings - for the first time, Pantone - the decider of the wedding palette has taken on the blending of two shades – Rose Quartz and Serenity and yes, both are the current trend - the colour of 2016. Okay okay, we love baby pink and we love that light blue - this is beginning to look like it's for babies. Blue for boys and pink for girls..just kidding! But really, baby pink and blue are not exactly that - they have a bit more grown up punch - an almost salmon-blush-pink and a blue-windy-lilac-ish vibe. Like i said, grown-up! And we're already excited for this palette - especially at weddings. But first, our only advise is: use them in a mature way, with specks of it, a few drapes of it and let it not give out a kiddy-vibe.

The reason, Serenity and Rose Quartz became the symbols of 2016 is the fact that they denote "mindfulness and well-being as an antidote to modern day stresses" say the Pantone guys. But yes, see how soothing they are - and there is a certain kind of reassurance and security that comes with them. The pantone website also says that the prevalent combination of Rose Quartz and Serenity challenges traditional perceptions of colour association.
