Q: Anonymous asks " Hi guys, So my mom in law wants to take me shopping for my engagement outfit which will be bought from her side. I love that she is so excited about it and she is a total sweetheart , but my taste is VERY different from hers and I'm not sure I'm as comfortable with her yet to straight out ask for what I want , specially since her sister will also be accompanying us and I feel like it's going to be two against one !!!! But I don't want to purchase something I don't absolutely love either. HELP- how do I resolve this in the nicest way possible"   A: Ooh, sticky subject and quite a common one we assume considering it's hard for two people of different generations to like the same outfit. Well, for starters you could either a.) Take her to an area or store which you know has your kind of style, so its hard to find anything but what you like there ;) b.) Do an initial recce of the area on your own, or with your mom or friend. See the styles you like and where you saw them so when it comes to D day, you aren;t feeling lost and flustered and can point her in the right direction c.) Take print outs of stuff you like and show it to her casually well before you go shopping  saying "This would be my DREAM dress" or "This is what Iv always wanted to wear on my engagement". But if those things don't work, you will just have to muster up the courage to tell her that the dress she think is amazing is just not your style. Put it in a nice way like " It's beautiful but I just dont feel like myself in it" or "This is stunning, but I always had something else in mind" or "I know you love this mom, but these days this is what is in -point to your dream dress". You better start now anyway right?

What do you girls think? Any pointers?
