Our dull Tuesday needs a bit of colour and this pretty Udaipur wedding is what the doctor ordered. We honestly had a pretty tough time whittling down images for this wedding because there were so many ideas to capture (we are considering doing another post just on the tiny unique things we spotted but couldn't include- for example this bride gave amazing Mehendi giveaways like sari borders) and hellooo, don't miss the cool monsoon gota decor (omg gota clouds- so cute) and the sweet stationery in the shape of postcards. Photographer Pooja Joseph Photography★ 5  made those pictures pop!

P.S we are in love with her Mehendi hairstyle with braids and baby breaths! Chic AF!

Meet Nirali & Ribhu

"Ribhu and I met in London through a common friend while pursuing our masters. He proposed to me in Jan,2012 in London. After completing our masters in June 2012 he went back to Jaipur and I also came back to Baroda. Since then we were in a long distance relationship" explains Nirali.

The Wedding

From The Bride:

It was a destination wedding at Udaipur because it was in the middle, just right for both the families and one of the best places for a destination wedding.

The theme of the wedding was "SEASONS OF LOVE". Through the theme and logo of the wedding we tried to convey our love story. The logo of our wedding was a stamp which portrayed the idea of long distance along with a fun caricature. The caricature showcased our origins - Ribhu is from Jaipur so we had palaces, I am from Baroda so we had banyan trees and we met in London so we had the london eye in the stamp.

We had 5 main events : Spring Pheras, Summer Sundown, Mewar monsoon mehendi, Winter wonderland Sangeet and the Finale Seasons of love dinner post wedding.

For the Summer Sundown, we used all summery elements like sunflowers and fruits for decor. We kept favors like Pocket perfumes and Phone fans. The entry of the bride was on a segway.  The Spring Pheras was all about floral decor, it was a day wedding so I chose pastel colours.

For the baarat welcome we had tie and cufflink sets for men and mobile pouches for the ladies. Monsoon Mewar Mehendi incorporated rainy elements: we did the entire decor with gota patti, like gota patti umbrella, gota patti rain drops and clouds etc. We also had a flower shower at the event. There were favors like Wax Hands, Parrot astrology, ganesh art names, for the ladies and we even had saree borders and cute traditional boxes.

Winter Wonderland Sangeet included winter elements -  think wintery looking white trees with crystal balls hanging and even our entry was in a snow globe as well. The main highlight of the Sangeet was the ice bar which was around the theme of London. Our stationery was full of fun ideas - post cards for all events with our stamps, Welcome  & Thank you notes, DND tags, Key cards - all in the form of postcards.

Our outfits were all about staying close to the decor and the venue. For my own family mehendi, I wanted it to be very traditional so I opted for a yellow Benarasi lehenga and cape. Cape was the best option for mehendis - they don't bother you and the dupatta won't keep falling off. For the main Mehendi I chose a gota patti Jacket Lehenga by Anita Dongre.

For the Summer Sundown, I opted for a Pink trail custom gown with a pearl choker. For the pheras, I always wanted to be a Sabyasachi bride. Being a gujarati it was a task to convince my family to wear a sabya lehenga and not a panetar. I wore a red chandelier lehenga with 2 dupattas. I personally was very comfortable with 2 dupattas. I opted for Jadau jewellery instead of uncut as it has become too common these days.
