Timeless Delhi Wedding With Old World Charm & A Bride Who Wore Blue
|
|
Now here is a wedding that stood out for so many reasons! Not only did the bride create a classic, almost regal old world setting at her wedding, but we love how she managed to do that not at a fort or palace, but in the middle of Delhi! She wore a powder blue Anamika Khanna lehenga, which was a first for us, and had a wedding that was effortlessly elegant- our fave style! Amanda and Sachit's wedding planned by the bride herself was stunning to say the least, and we loved each and every look of the bride- each very different from the other. Our pick? That pretty pastel bridal look, which is one that you surely should bookmark if you want something offbeat and different at your wedding!
Meet Amanda and Sachit
This was about 3 years ago, we met at a holi party. My school friends knew of him but it was my first interaction with him. A grumpy guy who apparently hated holi for the fact that “there is no respect for one's personal space and people go about spraying water and colours without asking”. The moment he expressed his disdain for holi I knew I had to trouble him because who comes to holi party and says; I hate holi! I went ahead threw water on him and as they say rest his history.

From The Bride:
Our wedding happened under very difficult circumstances. The pandemic taught us “crisis management” We had booked Jai Mahal to get married in Feb however the pandemic played spoilt sport. But one thing was certain that I wanted to recreate an old world royal charm at my wedding hence we decided on Leela Palace as the venue. From the cards to the outfits to the venue and decor all was decided keeping in mind the old world charm. For myself, I wanted my wedding to look evergreen so that even if was to view the images or the videos 10 years later it should look classic & eternal.
I wanted to apply white henna so we ordered it from Singapore. With my experience in the hospitality industry I got all the vendors on board and planned my entire wedding.
Vendor Reviews
Venue: The Leela Palace, New Delhi
The menu had our favourites from Le cirque, Megu and Jamawar along with some specially curated dishes for the wedding. We worked on it for about a month and did multiple trials to get the food right. Cause my husband is big foodie and for him the food can either make a party or break the party. In that regard Leela really out did themselves.
Makeup Artist: Meera Sakhrani
For me she’s someone who understands the meaning of less is more. Since she has worked on the fashion industry for so long she understands how importance of an individual’s vibe. She will always do justice no matter what as she is extremely hands on looks at dressing the bride holistically.
Photography: Shutterdown
Lakshya is family to me and I am fortunate as he also is the best in the industry. Team Shutterdown is by far the most professional team of photographers I’ve ever worked with. Their turn around time is fantastic.
Groomwear: Shantanu and Nikhil
He is a big Shantanu & Nikhil fan and wore mostly S&N for all his events. He loves how they play with silhouettes.
