This virtual wedding had everything- a bride, a groom, lots of guests in blingy outfits and Punjabi dancing- except that it all happened online! Yep, the groom was in Mumbai, while the bride was in Delhi, and their guests joined in from all over the world! They tweaked their original 150 people guest list to 50, and had their wedding at 11:30 AM IST, which was a convenient time for everyone. With Coronavirus wedding cancellations happening all over, looks like this couple came up with this cool idea out of desperation!

The couple had met online and had been dating for a year, and were to have their wedding in Mumbai. The groom, Mumbai-based merchant navy officer, Preet Singh, and the bride, Delhi girl Neet Kaur, were to get married on April 4. But when the actual wedding couldn't happen due to the Coronavirus lockdown, they still went ahead with it- online, which was the groom's idea. Friends and family, from as far as Dubai, Canada and Australia, attended their unique wedding via video call, using the Zoom video conferencing app. The guests, who had all turned up dressed in wedding outfits even broke into a dance at the end of the virtual wedding and had chocolates!

The bride had their wedding date, 4.4.2020, etched on her hand as the bridal mehndi. The family said that they would visit the gurudwara at the earliest opportunity as the ritual would be incomplete without blessings.
