5. The Lalit Grand Palace, Srinagar

If it's not the grandeur of Mughal architecture that beckons to you; then the incredible history, colonial architecture and sophisticated luxury provided by The Lalit Grand Palace Srinagar might win your heart. The palace is encircled by the Himalayan ranges and overlooks the picturesque Dal Lake. You may mistake it for a castle in Edinburgh, but the Bengaluru palace is one of the most stunning properties in India. The interior walls of the palace are adorned by old paintings, and the palace houses some of the most exquisite and unique details such as Gothic style stained glass windows, a sprawling Durbar hall, and a dining table with mother of pearl inlay work. The sprawling lawns can house the largest of gatherings, and the palace is one of the most unique in terms of its architectural influences

7. Suryagarh Palace, Jaisalmer

Equipped with every modern facility you can think of, yet deceivingly rustic and vintage in its exterior, the Suryagarh Palace combines the rich, Rajasthani heritage of the Rajputs with modern day comforts you need for your guests . Made out of yellow sandstone with a central courtyard that can be the perfect backdrop  for your sangeet, the hotel overlooks a vast expanse of Thar desert  which almost looks like an extension of the rustic hotel itself.

Stay tuned to Part 2 as we round up some of the more unheard of properties around
