The Coolest Ideas To Make Sangeet Rehearsals Fun!

What is the more fun than an actual sangeet night? Sangeet Rehearsals! It’s that time of the wedding prep where everyone comes together to dance (learn dance too!), chill and make memories that will last you over a lifetime. Ask anyone whose had a sangeet and they will vouch for this – the sangeet night happens in a blink but it’s the sangeet rehearsals that keep you smiling even after the wedding is done. But managing a sangeet rehearsal is not a piece of joke. Keeping in mind everyone’s time slots, song preferences, outfits, and dance proficiency is more stressful than planning a CIA operation! We kid you not. So how do you make this fun? Here are some quickfire ways to put fun in your sangeet rehearsal days!
Make A Whatsapp Group
Not only will this make your life less hassle-free during the wedding prep days, but it will also give people a chance to chatter and discuss and decide things that you don’t need to bother about!
Mix The Groups
Everyone has their comfort zone, but weddings are one time where you meet new people and mix with everyone. So mix up the groups and then form your sangeet dances. This will not only help with the bonding but people will also turn up on time. When you are a part of the same gang, people tend to mass-bunk practices!
Do A Finale Night
This is so much fun! Whether you are practicing at home, on the terrace or even in a studio, set up a finale night with snacks and booze. This should be an after party post your final sangeet practice.
Have At least One Crazy Group Dance
While picking your songs for the sangeet, pick one group song where each person who is included in the sangeet is a part of it. It makes for a great finale number plus everyone gets to practice together. Have some basic steps with claps so that its easy for everyone!
Have Props For Practice Too
Props had a fun element to the entire dance sequence. So have some props (which you don’t have to rent/won’t get spoiled) during practices so that everyone can have some fun with them
Include Parents To Dance
The parents-gang always do the ‘aye meri zohra jabeen’ dance which frankly is quite boring now. Have them do a fun- Beyonce number (with slower steps of course) which they will enjoy and you’ll have fun watching too!
Have A Boys Vs. Girls Danceoff
Nothing like a little competition to add spice to your rehearsals. However old you grow up, a boys vs. girls danceoff always getting the party a little wilder. Pick a cult classic and roll with it!
Plan Post Rehearsals Activities
Have a Friday night rehearsal where people are less inclined to come? Have a post-rehearsal Karaoke night or even board-game night. This will not only encourage people to turn up but you can chill with everyone for longer!
Let Loose And Have As Much Fun
Isn’t that the whole point of it all? Have fun and then go on to show your killer moves on the final sangeet night!
