Anyone excited for the upcoming India Bridal Week 2014 in Emporio? We know we are (and we shall be getting you all the latest scoop from there too!), but before all the craziness that is Bridal week begins, yesterday ace couturier  Tarun Tahiliani gave us a sneak peak of what we can expect from his show this season. We are definitely Tahiliani fans at Wed Me Good and we have to say we would KILL for that gold anarkali Sonalika Sahay is wearing. Tarun's collection this time is called the "Modern Mughals" and has tones of gold, and pastels with trademark use of Swarovski. The Swarovski this time around is however not the typical sparkly swarovski, it has this dull, opalascent finish that we saw up close.

This anarkali on Sonalika is pure love!

This beautiful soft  pink lehenga with gota and zardizi work is the perfect outfit for morning brides!

Love how simple this anarkali is with minimal embroidery, but at the same time it looks effective and regal.

A sunset yellow resham work anarkali !

Groom wear silhouettes were interesting too. A lot of dhoti drapes with jackets and kurtas. Love both these silhouettes on the right.

The color pallette of this is quite pretty. Traditional Gota embroidery on a silk, multicoloured lehenga with a cobalt blue blouse and saffron detailing. The contrast of the blue against the yellow is pretty!

This was Taruns show stopper piece for the season. The lehenga was this pale, dove grey and covered in Swarovski crystals but the crystals were dull, opalascent finish therefore limiting the bling factor. Had a bit too much going on for our liking but the  Favourite thing about this whole ensemble has to be the Ombre dupatta !

In absolute LOVE with the piece from Azva that Sonalika is wearing. Pure gold, is making a huge comeback and nudging out the Polki and Jadau trends we have been seeing for the past five years or so. Overall, we had an interesting afternoon listening to Tarun's take on Indian couture. According to him, there is a whole lot of fusion wear we are going to see in Indian couture. People are going to be moving from just lehengas, and anarkalis to draped saris and ensembles and new silhouettes that the modern bride wants to wear. He had some very interestingly draped silhouettes- like anarkalis with a pre-draped cowl neck dupatta which looked like a gown , and could be switched up to a more Indian looking ensemble when need be. Instead of having drama and opulence through embroidery, he felt the easiest way to add drama would be to add a large, trailing veil in a very light fabric . The concept of less is more is  also visible in bridal jewellery A single, statement piece is replacing the large, layers of jewellery worn by brides.
