Sustainability is the need of the hour, and we love brides who do it with a twist of their own! One recent bride who really impressed us is Shivangi Dave, a stylist who also is the Co-Founder of The Wedding Wardrobe - A boutique studio exclusively styling New-age Indian brides, grooms & their families globally. She didn't just use her mom's trousseau for her own, but in fact repurposed it to create all-new modern outfits- isn't that something? Take a look at his heartwarming Ahmedabad wedding.

"We met 6 years ago a friend's house party in Mumbai", the bride tells us.

From The Bride:

I had a cross-cultural wedding (Gujarati x Maharashtrian) following Gujarati wedding rituals in a heritage quaint bungalow in Ahmedabad. To balance the cultures, I wore a classic ivory saree celebrating the simplicity and sanctity of my marriage in a contemporary gujarati drape style with a statement Marathi Nath - a treasured family heirloom that my mother wore on her wedding day.

My vision for curating my wedding wardrobe was to keep it familial, versatile and heirloom centered. All the outfits for the wedding festivities were repurposed using my mother’s trousseau sarees, one of them being her reception saree given by my late grandmother.

My personal style is to mix and match and hence I curated a mix of separates that can easily be paired with each other to dress it up or down based on the vibe or the event. The colours in my palette are proudly Indian like the rani pinks, kacchi keri greens, royal purple and ivory. I chose saree colours that were very Indian and silhouettes that were contemporary and versatile like kaftans, co-ord sets and jackets.

Stylist: The Wedding Wardrobe

I couldn't imagine figuring out my whole wardrobe and everything all by myself sitting in Prague and arriving just 4 days before the wedding. Having Nandini by my side and sort everything out in time was like a huge relief, from placing last minute orders, fittings to custom designing the safa” - Abhishek (groom)

The photographer’s team was quite quick on feet and like a fly on the wall, just the kind of experience I wanted as a bride.

Makeup Artist: Nasreen

Nasreen aunty has always been amazing with me. She knows what I like and don't and just makes the whole process very comfortable and relaxing. For me the rapport with the makeup artist and the experience of how they handle you and take care of your concerns matters the most and she gets that.
