Super Cute Goa Wedding With A Designer Bride Who Oversaw The Décor

Some of the prettiest weddings that we've featured in this very section, have had Altair Décor on board. Naturally, when the brand's Head Designer tied the knot, one can imagine how she must've gone out of her way to ensure everything was top-notch and picture perfect aesthetically. It was her big day after all! While she looked after the creatives and all things décor, her Product Manager partner handled the planning and logistics. Theirs is a classic 'opposites attract' wala story. While Apeksha hails from Jaipur, Midhun's home is Madurai. One is a gym rat and the other loves to sleep. But together, they just fit. Sometimes when two very different people come together, magic happens. And that's what transpired the day they said, 'I do!' Also, here's a shoutout to their pet doggo for single-handedly upping the cuteness quotient of their nuptial ceremonies to an altogether different high. Not to mention, Dreamcatchers Photography★ 4.9 has captured the dreamy moments rather beautifully.

Meet Apeksha and Midhun

"We first met at a Goan wedding, then swiped right on Tinder for having the same profile picture with a minion from Universal Studios in Singapore. I still remember those days when I used to fly to Mumbai from Bangalore for weekends to spend time with her and in a couple of months of us speaking, I decided to move closer to her - switching cities and jobs. I'm from the temple city, Madurai, Tamil Nadu and she's from the pink city, Jaipur, Rajasthan . I cannot do without Rasam and my gym, she can't do without junk food and oversleeping. Together, we built a little home where we got a dog (who we now love more than we love each other), and I felt complete.  After two years of being together, we decided to take our first long holiday covering Eastern Europe. On 14th Feb, on a cute little bridge somewhere in the middle of Amsterdam, I went down on my knees, asking her to be with me forever. She said yes. After her acceptance, we made the families meet and everyone was on board with us on this journey. We initially decided to get married on 29th of April, 2021 at Alila Diwa, Goa. Three days before the wedding, we had to cancel the preparations due to the COVID restrictions. We had waited for an entire year for this magic to happen. This year, on April 29th 2022, we decided to tie the knots the same way we had planned it originally. All the artworks for the wedding were hand painted by a friend composed of elements from both our lands, our family and the place we decided to get married -  a picture to represent our small world," shares the groom.

Haldi

"It started off with a Sun-kissed Haldi ceremony near the poolside at Alila. Our  friends and family were asked to show up in their pool attires. I chose to wear a no-fuss yellow wrap-around dress, perfect not only for a Goan holiday but also to open up just before everyone jumped into the pool. Since Midhun is a fanatic of perfumes, we had a Perfume bar in our Haldi, where guests could make perfumes of their own based on their taste of nodes," reveals Apeksha.

Sangeet

She continues, "It was followed by a Bolly-Tolly Tadka night, we had our guests dressed up in suits and gowns. Midhun (a budding Stand-up comedian) kick-started the function with a hilarious speech about how easy and difficult it was to get a Jaipur girl fall in love with a Madurai boy. For the first time in history, we did a retake of a couple song because we missed a few steps. At one point, just for fun, the bridesmaids danced on the same song 3 times just because the crowd screamed once more."

Wedding (South Indian)

"Day 2 started off with "Enga Veetu kalyanam" (the South Indian wedding), the entire guest list chose to dress up in Venis and Veshtis. I decided to get baarat in an ATV and Midhun's family welcomed us and went ahead with the rituals," adds the bride.

Wedding (North Indian)

"For the pheras, (North Indian Wedding), Midhun got his baarat in a pink Vespa while our family welcomed him and went ahead with the jaimala ceremony. Very unconventionally, we chose a female priest for the wedding ceremony. Radha (MBBS by profession) was the female priest who had recited our pheras," she smiles.

From The Bride:

Ours was a cross culture wedding, but we made sure we celebrated all the rituals. This was an intimate setup with our close friends and family. Our idea was to make it extremely fun-filled with a lot of warmth and creativity. South Indians and North Indians celebrated rituals, food and music from both cultures that have now become one. Being a pet friendly property, it was very easy for us to have our fur baby Cabo by our side during our wedding festivities.

Vendor Reviews:

Venue: Alila Diwa, Goa

This one is a rare find! Few years back, I was at this property for a wedding and on seeing the vibe of the property, I instantly decided that this is where I should get married. Also since it is a pet friendly property, it was so much easier for us to have our fur baby next to us for all our festivities.

Wedding Planning: The Wedding Page

Anurag and Melvin are friends from my work and I have known them for quite some time. They were the pillars of our wedding through and through and they have ensured that every detail was taken care of. Anurag, Melvin and the team were so composed with a warm attitude and a really interesting bunch to work with!

Photography: Dreamcatchers

As the name suggests, Punit and team exactly knew how to capture dream moments in the best way possible. They were spectacular and extremely professional in their work. The pictures have turned out to be beautiful and dreamy; will be cherished by us all life long.

Decor: PropShop Goa by FM Events

Being a wedding designer myself, for the first time ever I did not make the production sheet for my own wedding. Each and everything was taken care of by Akash so beautifully. Each setup was so dreamy, each detail very well thought of, making the entire wedding look out of the world. Our hearts are full!

Bridal Hair & Makeup: Bianca & Rachna

This mother daughter duo just knew how to bring out my best version for each and every event. Every look that they curated was equally different and matched the mood and vibe of the décor. They were a breeze to work with and understood my aesthetic seamlessly.

Sangeet Choreography: Best Foot Forward

We got Sanya and Mahesh to choreograph our Sangeet Night. Our family was very comfortable with them. They made the whole process fun. We even decided to do some impromptu flash mobs during the wedding and they were executed beautifully on the spot. The performances were memorable for every guest.
