Spotted: Unique 'Kalira' details we love

While the twitter sphere gets divided amongst the "Pray for  Salman" and the "He deserves it"  variety, we were busy browsing through our gallery when we came across some unique details we absolutely love.  One of these details - are the kaleeras that North Indian brides wear . While legend has it that these signify good luck charms , the more fun ritual is that the girl on whose head the kalira falls (when the bride shakes them over her head) gets married next Traditional Lotan Kalire

These traditional kalire, are available only in the narrow streets of Patiala or Amritsar. They are called 'Lotan' Kalire and have threads hanging from inside the golden caps. Kalira with Shells and Balls

Nimrata's kalire were possibly our favourite ! Different colored pom poms in pastel colors were attached to two silver discs. These can be made by any boutique /tailor   Kalira with emotional attachments

For the girls who like some bling- shimmery, jewel encrusted Kalire are pretty much readily available these days.
