Meet Poonam
Look 1 – Pre-Wedding Event
This was the first function of the wedding and the entire family decided to co-ordinate. Since it was a Pooja, I wanted my look to be very traditional. I wore a custom made pink benarasi lehenga with a mint green dupatta from labelsonamn. Sonam almost immediately understood what I was looking for and the fit was absolutely perfect as well! The necklace, earrings and bangles originally belonged to my maternal grandmother which I got refurbished from sanzanyjewels.
Look 2 – Mehendi & Welcome Lunch
Since this function coincided with the arrival of guests at Fairmont, Jaipur, I wanted something that was hassle-free and comfortable. I picked this Yashodhara pant saree from Bridal Asia. Since the mehndi décor was high on bright colours, I opted for neutral and soothing ochre. To break the monotony and add some fun to my outfit, I wore contrasting red and green oversized chandbali and statement ring from Shobha Shringar. Subtle makeup and a back braid with accessories completed the look
Look 3 – Sangeet
This was the most love outfits by all guests. I wore a cold shoulder crop top with a high waistline skirt. I ditched the traditional dupatta for cape sleeves. I had my eyes on Disha Patil s collection since the time I saw her collection at LFW and I really thought her style was apt for the sangeet. I fell in love with the outfit the second I laid my eyes on it. Since the outfit was very opulent I wanted to keep the jewellery minimal and chose statement diamond earrings, ring and solitaire bangles all from my mother’s collection. I opted for pink eyes with glitter and nude lips and my hair was neatly pinned at the back with soft curls
Look 4 – Brunch
I’ve always loved Papa Dont Preach collection, and when we conceptualised the theme for the brunch no other designer’s collection fit the bill as apt. I wore the custom made jumpsuit with a high ponytail, dewy makeup and coloured eyeliner.
Look 5 – Wedding Day
The wedding setup was every bit royal with the palatial backdrop, chandeliers, lamps and colour spectrum ranging between red, gold and white. I personally love the colour tangerine and had decided to wear one at either my own or my brother’s wedding. Anushree Reddy is one of my favourite labels. Krupa, the store manager at Aza Bandra helped me pick the perfect outfit. This outfit has by far been my fastest pick and easily my personal favourite from all the wedding outfits. I used a double drape for this look, one being the beige dupatta and the other a green sehla from my mother’s collection. I paired the outfit with a polki necklace, earrings and kadas all from Golank Jewels . Traditional makeup with gold eyes and pink lips and a neat updo completed the look
Look 6 – After Wedding Party
Since my brother has lived in the UK for half his life, we decided to have a small English style celebration. I wore a custom made wine mermaid gown by Jay Makhija, Bandra . Unlike the previous functions, I chose to opt for bold smokey eyes, nude lips and let my hair loose. I wore my mother’s diamond earrings, ring and bracelet to complete the look.
Look 7 – Reception
We had formal reception in Mumbai for our business colleagues; hence I wanted a slightly formal outfit. I chose a beautiful corset and skirt with an embellished belt by Arushi Rawal in lavender. Since the outfit has so much happening all over it, I kept the jewellery simple with statement earrings with purple drops. Purple glitter eyes with bold long lashes and the side braid added to the feminine aura of the outfit
