Sister Of The Groom Style: Meet Ishita!
|
|
OMG! That's what we said when we saw this sister of the bride. Ishita had a style like no other, and it was impeccable- to the extent that she did not mind looking like a semi-bride on her brother's wedding, which we had featured a while back! Over to her as she takes us through all her looks, as probably the most stylish sister of the groom we've seen in a while!
"We had pre decided themes for the wedding. Apart from coordinating the themes of the events with bride and groom’s ensemble, we had coordinated the looks of both the families with each other as well."
Look 1: Mehendi
For Mehendi, we had a colorful décor setup and had planned the same for our outfits. Mohak and Shaneez wore a coordinating onion pink color with multi-colored embroidery for both. As families, we decided to all be dressed in yellow. I wore a striped Sabyasachi Mukherjee saree with a navratan jewellery set.
The second I saw the saree, I knew I found the outfit I wanted to wear and wearing the navratan with it was almost immediately instinctive. Sported the look with a brown lip color and soft brown eye. I’m glad it worked out well as an ensemble. Can’t wait to wear these pieces again."
Look 2: Sangeet
For Sangeet, the theme of décor and our outfits was bling. The men of our family were going to wear black with a touch of bling. I wore a mouse colored sequins lehenga set by Nakul Sen . The lehenga suited the theme just right and was extremely comfortable for me to dance in the rest of the night.
The blouse was close necked and full sleeve, so I didn’t need much jewelry. I added just stud earrings and statement rings to finish the look. My makeup was my all time favourite bold black smokey eye with a nude glossy lip.
Look 3: Haldi
For Haldi, the theme of the décor was yellow (no surprise) but the families and guests were given the dress code for wearing bandhini. Mohak and Shaneez wore simple yellow outfits since they were going to get caked up with Haldi while the rest of us all wore bandhini.
I wore a purple bandhini saree with colored motifs. I added a hand embroidered magenta border on the saree to add to its look. This time I wore my mom’s statement jewellery to complete the look and finished it with simple no-makeup makeup look.
Look 4: Wedding
For the wedding, the theme was traditional Indian, and as families we decided to wear traditional Indian looks. The color palette was red, white, gold, soft blue with a touch of floral. I wore a triple pallu saree that I styled with existing pieces at home.
The saree is by Raw Mango , the red dupatta is by Jayanti Reddy , the organza dupatta on the head by Nidhi Tholia , the potli is by Lovetobag . I made changes to some pieces by adding borders or work on some. Finished it with my mom’s traditional gold jewellery and a bright red lip.
Look 5: Reception
For our Delhi reception, the dress code was to wear silk saree for women. As families we all wore gold saree. The girls side of family wore red silk saree.
I wore a saree that we had purchased a long time ago. I added heavy work borders on all sarees, and we all wore the sarees with an added dupatta on the side. Since the saree was heavy, I finished it with a diamond choker and solitaires for my look.
So, which look is your favourite?
