Things & Tips to Keep in Mind

  • Opt for Organic!

It's always preferable to use organic mehendi on kids instead of chemical variety. Please make sure you ask the mehendi artist before starting the patch test or full design. Avoid black mehendi for kids as it mostly has chemicals mixed.

  • Do a Patch Test, especially for kids

While many adults do not do it when it comes to mehendi, we highly recommend it not just for kids but adults too. The mehendi might be adulterated with chemicals or simply may not suit your skin. Patch testing is usually advised before applying any kind of cosmetic, be it bleach, hair colour, or even facial mask. This is done to check for any occurrences of an allergic reaction to any substances or components. Conducting a patch test before starting the mehendi application is crucial because children's skin is way more sensitive than adult skin. To find out if your child is allergic to mehndi, dab a little bit of the paste on their feet or forearms- the best place is in the nook of the elbow or behind the knees. Let it dry up and give it a day. After a day, check to see if there is any redness or itching. Proceed with the full design only after this crucial step.

  • Keep it simple!

Avoid selecting intricate and difficult patterns and designs; save them for the ladies! For young girls, simple patterns like flowers, paisley motifs, or even their favourite cartoon character are wonderful ways to apply mehndi. Additionally, keep in mind that children cannot sit for extended periods of time, thus labor-intensive mehndi designs are not recommended. Given that children are young and active, smudging may also be an issue.

That was one extensive list, right? We really hope you enjoyed the designs and tips and saved some of the most adorable mehndi patterns for your child!
