Simple & Glamorous Delhi Wedding With A Touch Of Drama!

A plum-coloured lehenga and Manish Arora earrings - that just about defines this pretty simple Delhi wedding that landed on our doorstep this week. Apart from the sweet outfit style, the bride's makeup and hair with baby breaths really needs a mention and we think that plum is really coming back big time as a wedding hue - don't you think? While Delhi Cantt made for an interesting venue, photography by Sid Wedding Photos really took those wedding candids up a notch!

"Through an acquaintance under strange circumstances that were really funny. That's all I can say" explains Shireen.
The Mehendi & Sangeet
The Wedding
From The Bride:
We got married in February - the most pleasant time of the year. My mehendi was done during the day with just close family and friends. I wore a benarasi georgette anarkali with silk pants and earrings from Amrapali's Manish Arora collection. We also gave out gifts to everyone stamped with our names logo - AakarShireen. The same evening, we celebrated our sangeet, where I wore a traditional Benarasi Silk lehenga with a jamdani silk dupatta, both sourced separately with silver jewellery from Amrapali and Chandni Chowk. I decided to wear chunky silver jewellery just for the absolute love of it. Aakarsh wore an Ikkat Silk Achkan along with a dhoti.
Ours was a day wedding, where I wore a bespoke pink and grey zari and sequin work lehenga, along with traditional gold jewellery from Tanishq, with a customised maatha patti from Preeti Mohan and a gorgeous bird-design nath. Aakarsh decided to wear a suit which was kind of different.
