We're sure we splurge on weddings - lehengas, crazy favours and ideas. And once the wedding is over, you end up really wondering if that purchase was worth it after all? But some splurges are totally worth it - whether it's a pair of earrings with your favourite stone or a sweet gift your parents gave you on the day of the wedding. Here's what a few of our brides told us about their biggest value-for-money detail.
Shubhi Grover,Senior Manager- PR,Corporate Communication & ORM at Kaya Skin Clinic says:
"Wedding or bridal jewellery is one of the most critical elements of wedding shopping and this absolutely holds true for me. It’s my day and I can’t afford to look like anything but like a million bucks. A diamond necklace & earring set studded with striking ruby gemstones has to be the most special wedding gift for me from my folks. My parents chose that for me as a part of my trousseau, the piece of art is worth every single penny. Also, I gifted myself the latest Baleno Nexa car for my wedding – a new addition in my family, my companion. The white in colour luxurious beauty brings smile to my face whenever I am behind the wheels. Essentially, it makes me feel independent, confident and exceptionally content with what life has offered me. No greater feeling in life than this. As they say – “It’s not the money that matters but how you use it that determines its true value!”
Aishwarya Singh, Fashion Editor at Flyrobe says:
"I guess two money-wise decisions I've made that are the best are- my honeymoon and the outfits I rented from Flyrobe. My honeymoon was a month long vacation in Dubai - adventurous and most romantic and the outfits I rented I practically paid almost nothing as compared to what I would have had I bought them. Oh, if there was a third thing then has to be my polaroid cam that I used everywhere and every time during my honeymoon- I think every bride should have that!"
Sanchi Nasta, Blogger at Little Miss Obsessed
"I don't wear too much jewellery and I'm not a big fan of traditional Indian jewellery cause even though it's too pretty, it's very heavy. But this being an Indian wedding, I had to wear something. So, I got these diamond and champagne stone earrings with pearl drops made, they are exquisite and can be worn with Indian as well as western wear. Also, they are minimal and classic, just the way I like it."

"I bought a pair of chaandbaalis which we're artificial from Pal D'zigns. They were super value for money because anytime I'm going for a destination wedding and don't want to carry real jewellery they are heavy enough and go with everything!"
Megha Saraogi, New Bride says
"When I was buying my wedding outfits, I was really sure I wanted one outfit that's Value-for-Money, one I can team up with other stuff and wear again and again. My wedding outfit was a Sabyasachi, I knew I can only wear it once. But my second Sangeet outfit was from Anamika Khanna and I love how its subtle and sweet. It's been 6 months and I already wore it at my cousin's wedding with a different blouse,"
