“I have enough jewellery” – said no one ever! There are so many styles and designs in a bride’s jewellery range that you can never have enough. But when we asked our real brides - What pieces of jewelry should every woman own? And they gave us some interesting options! Apart from your bridal set, which almost every bride invests in and the remaining secondary pieces like maangtikka and haathphools, here are some must-have pieces that you should have in your bridal jewellery collection.

I would suggest that every bride should get a pair of jhumkis. They are traditional but you can also wear them on simple outfits like anarkalis and light sarees. They look very pretty and give a nice look to every outfit you wear.

A choker is a must have in every bride’s set I feel. I don’t like those super heavy haars that usually brides buy because you can’t wear them later. A choker you can wear with a heavy piece or even alone. That is the best part. I love temple jewellery so I invested in a temple jewellery choker but any style is fine.

This may be a cliché but it’s for a reason. A string of pearls or even a single strand pearl necklace is something I think all brides should own. Pearls have a long life and they can be worn with a saree, dress or even a shirt so I think you should invest in these. Buy good quality ones so they last you for a lifetime and maybe you can even pass them down as an heirloom piece to your daughter or family!

Studs! I don’t know why we tend to forget pieces that we actually use in daily lives. Buy a pair of diamond or pearl studs and you are sorted.

May sound too millennial but I am a millennial bride! It’s midi rings. I love them so much and they are a classic addition to my jewellery box. I wear them stacked or even on their own and they look so so pretty on almost everything I own. I have invested in mixed pieces so I can pair them depending on my outfits – simple bands, coloured stones, funky motif pieces everything. So I would suggest midi rings.

If you are looking to pick one piece of bridal jewellery for posterity, it would be a navratna haar or set. I love it for the simple fact that it can be worn with anything. I invested in one and wore it on my wedding day and now I wear it all the time with different things. Sometime I wear the earrings on their own too. Since there are so many colours in it you can match it with anything in your closet.
