Real Brides Reveal: How they plan to re-use their wedding lehenga

So much time and effort (and not to mention money!) goes into finding that perfect lehenga...while most of us know exactly what we want right from the colour to the motif, a lot of us are clueless on what to do with the lehenga after the wedding! Store it like a keepsake or wear it again? Don't worry, here's some advice! We asked 6 Real Brides to tell us what they plan to do or did with their wedding lehenga! Whether you have your wedding coming up, or have your lehenga lying around gathering dust... here are some ideas that could help!

Bride 1: Rini Srivastava, Teacher

“Weddings are an expensive affair, so I want to donate my wedding lehenga to someone needy who probably cannot afford to buy a nice one for her wedding. I think that's going to be the perfect thing to do with my lehenga!”

Bride 2: Prachi Malhotra, Pilot

“I wore a light pink and gold  long jacket-type kurta in raw silk with antique work paired with a golden flowing skirt. I also got a pair of pants stitched with it in the same colour as a part of my bridal trousseau. So now I have a friend's wedding coming up next month, where I plan to wear the kurta with pants as an indo-western outfit!”

Bride 3: Rucheet Purba, Dentist

“I wore my hot pink wedding lehenga again for a friend's wedding, but this time with a silver blouse and a simpler dupatta. I was pleasantly surprised as it was complete transformation of my wedding attire! I'm so happy I'm able to reuse my bridal outfits because they will always be special for me.”

Bride 4: Mehak , WedMeGood

"I wore a full flared out lehenga on my wedding day. My brothers wedding is coming up , and I am switching up the traditional blouse to a crop top and attaching a draped dupatta on the shoulder. So the skirt stays, but I have a cool 'attached dupatta' crop top.

Bride 5: Sonakshi Saxena, Fashion Merchandiser

"I got married in a Kanjeevaram, which can obviously be reused, but changed right after that for the reception. I purposely chose a simpler lehenga for my function as it won't be difficult to reuse it for one of my friends weddings again!"

Bride 6: Nidhi Kataria, Fashion Designer

"I wouldn't ever miss a chance to wear my wedding lehenga again! Every time I can style it and coordinate it with something new, which will make it look completely different. For example, I could wear a pink smart silk jacket with long slits on the side with my lehenga skirt or maybe I could do a vintage hairstyle with a big rose on one side. Or i can also wear my sea green blouse with a floral printed high-waisted silk flared maxi skirt in the same colour. I can also just mix and match my dupattas with different suits and lehengas. There is so much to do to make it look completely different every time and yet reuse every element of the lehenga!"
