A bride in a leather jacket, a stage backdrop that is a giant scroll and an intimate guest list at the quaint Woodville Palace in Shimla - this wedding is fun, contemporary and offbeat . Amidst bonfires, bubbles and pinwheels ,Spardha and Ashish were going for a  a 'non wedding' - wedding and we can definitely see the relaxed party spirit come through in each detail. Shot by Joseph Radhik, with details designed by Devika Narain, if there ever was a  Monday morning pick me up, this is it.

Anyone else love that scroll backdrop for the Jai Mala?

From the bride:   Ashish and I didn't want a hectic wedding and wanted something more personal, detail-oriented and memorable. Our wedding was supposed to be a non-wedding. It was supposed to be just a weekender party where everyone looks pretty, happy and tipsy.

I think the USP was that everybody was living together, contributing to the decor and setting-up.  Our friends made the music playlists, the elders played the dholki, there were bonfires in the night, and all with the backdrop of the cedar forest. It was a very old-school way of doing a weddings, that were collaborative, but done and executed in our very contemporary offbeat style. From bubbles in the day time to bonfires at night, there was a lot of attention paid to detail . Our card for example - each insert featured my corresponding day's jewellery on it, and the favors we distributed were bottles of Jams from Bhuria Jams- a Himachal run all-women enterprise.
